You Are Loved

Good morning, crafters!  I have a valentine card for you today that features the retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set, You Are Loved.  The You Are Loved Stamp Set is part of “Shelli’s Signature Collection”.

I made this card for two challenges on Splitcoaststampers (SCS).  One challenge, Clean and Simple (CAS), hosted by Kia, was to look back (at least two years in the past) in our SCS galleries, pick a valentine card, and CASE it in our current card-making style.  I thought Kia’s challenge was a clever one.  I selected this CARD that is in my SCS gallery to case.  I would not consider this a CAS card; however, I do not have many valentine cards posted in my SCS gallery to case except for this and last year. I do not think that my style is any different, but I did modify the card somewhat.

The second challenge was Maura’s Color Challenge.  It was to create with black, white, and red.  Her “dessert” for the challenge was to include a heart. These colors are fantastic together, especially for a valentine card.

If you did not click on this above link, CARD that is in my SCS gallery, and are interested in how I made this card design, you may click on the link for a tutorial.  I created this card design in 2013 and had not seen the design before.  I see now that there are a lot of cards made with this, or variations of, same design on the internet.  Enjoy!

MATTHEW 6:19-21 (NIV)

Jesus said this in reference to treasures in heaven:  “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not beak in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Whimsy Stamps Snowman String Of Hearts

Yesterday I shared with you that I would have another whimsical card for you today.  This card features the Whimsy Stamps Snowman String of Hearts stamp, another stamp designed by Crissy Armstrong for Whimsy Stamps.  I made the card to submit to a Splitcoaststampers Free for All Challenge.   Shirley (Wannabcre8tive) hosted the Free for All Challenge, and she asked us to make a Valentine. This is my card for her challenge. I was thankful for her easy challenge.

I stamped the image onto Solar White Card Shock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Then I used Copic Sketch Markers to color the image.  I used a piece of water color paper, water, paint brush, and brushos to a create the greenish background panel.  I attempted to get the brusho colors close to the color of the snowman’s coat.  I then used one of the ODBD Snowflake Sky Dies to cut the water color paper into a frame. I used American Crafts Glitter Paper to cut out the white glitter snowflakes with the Taylored Expressions Snowflake Confetti Die and added them to the image frame. Lastly, I added a ribbon that is close in color to the snowman’s hat and scarf.

Enjoy!

1 JOHN 4:1-3

“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.  This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God:  Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God.  This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.”

Taylored Expressions Floating Hearts Cutting Plate

Six more sleeps until it is Christmas Day!!!  Hello, everyone!  I decided that I am not making any more Christmas cards for this year.  So, I have moved on to a Valentine’s Day card featuring the Taylored Expressions Floating Hearts Cutting Plate.  I love the results of this cutting plate, which shows on the RIGHT side of my card.

To create the card, I sponged SU Classic Inks onto a piece of white card stock using a sponge dauber.  I used Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette, Pistachio Pudding, So Saffron, and Lovely Lilac ink.  Using the sponged and colored piece of card stock and the Taylored Expressions Floating Hearts Cutting PlateI die cut the hearts.  Leaving the hearts within the cutting plate, I laid it over a piece of white card stock and pushed each heart out of the plate, ensuring the positioning was the same as the plate.  I added an adhesive to attached them permanently to the card stock.

I used the SU Happy Hearts Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Pink Pirouette card stock and then cut out a heart in the center using a die from the Hero Arts’ Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies I used the same piece of sponged, colored card stock to cut out a heart frame with the same heart dies.  (NOTE: If you are looking for some wonderful heart dies, these will make you happy.  There are 10 dies in the set and they truly nest perfectly within each other.)  As you can see below, I used the heart cutouts to create a heart shaker box.  I inserted some miniature hearts sequins inside the heart, which is covered with a piece of transparency.

I made the “love” sentiment with a die from Hero Arts’ Love Stamp & Cut.  Lastly, I submitted this card for a Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge.

Thank you for stopping by!  Hopefully my card brings you inspiration!

The birth of Jesus Christ (cont’d):  “All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:  “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” — which means, “God with us.”  When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.  But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son.  And he gave him the name Jesus.”  Matthew 1:22-25  (Also see Isaiah 7:14 for the reference prophet.)

The shimmery shininess of the beautiful Red Glimmer Paper graces the card as its first layer. The card’s outer edge supports the lovely Stampin’ Up! Pretty in Pink 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon that I folded and glued into a ruffle pattern. The Whisper White card stock glistens with the Blushing Bride Smooch Spritz, and the elegant Basic Pearls adds a touch of class to the card.

This following picture is a closeup that provides you with a better view of the layers I created with the Framelits.

Stampin Up Valentine Cards – Large Paper Doily Die, Trinket Hearts, and Sweet Shop DSP

My friends, the season for Stampin Up Valentine Cards is winding down and I have just a couple more Stampin’ Up! Valentine Cards to share. This Valentine card’s primary features are the Large Paper Doily Die, Trinket Hearts, Adorning Accents Edgelits, and Stampin’ Up! Sweet Shop Designer Series Paper (DSP).

Stampin Up Valentine Cards

The card’s first layer of polka dot paper is from the In Color 2011-2013 Patterns Stack DSP. It’s a perfect background for the polka dot design from the Sweet Shop DSP. I used the new Adorning Accents Edgelits on the top and bottom of the first layer.

Did you notice the Lucky Limeade twine around the heart? It’s actually Stampin’ Up!’s White Baker’s Twine that I dipped in a combination of water and Lucky Limeade from a reinker.
