Scripture and Prayer for the Connecticut Families

Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV

… Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Luke 23:43 NIV

Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in paradise.”

Be strong and be assured that these courageous teachers in Connecticut and the precious little ones are now with Him and discovering all that is newly theirs. As the father of one of the little ones we lost said – “They beat us to paradise”.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for lives of these teachers and students. We pray for your healing hand on these families, school staff and students. Help the first responders to cope with the images that will surely stay with them forever. Heal our broken hearts. Help us find forgiveness and the right words to explain this to our children so that You are glorified even in this unspeakable and miserable tragedy. We pray this in the name of Jesus, who is the Christ. Amen.

God bless all involved with this horrific crime!

Stampin Up Submit a Project Kit Program

Stampin Up has started a brand new program, the Stampin Up Submit a Project Kit Program, and it is about YOU submitting YOUR kit ideas to Stampin Up, and they could become future Stampin Up kits for sale.  YOU will be the inspiration for the kits and YOU will vote to decide which project kits will be sold.  What a customer-service, oriented company Stampin Up is!!

Stampin Up Submit a Project Kit

The Stampin Up Submit a Project Kit Program is not limited to demonstrators!  Any customer can submit a kit idea.  So spread the word around to your neighbors, crafting clubs, class attendees, and anyone you run into.

After kit ideas are submitted, you can vote on various kits (including yours), and the votes will determine which kit(s) becomes available for future purchase.  This process is the same as the one I posted about yesterday where you voted on three potential Stampin Up Project Kits, resulting in one being selected to purchase.  So start creating, send your project kit ideas to Stampin Up, and get ready to vote for your favorites!

THIS IS HOW IT WORKS:

  • This program is available to both customers and demonstrators.
  • While your projects should not include retired products, they may include products not created by Stampin’ Up!, such as jars or frames.
  • Projects must fit into one of the following categories:
    • Holiday
    • Photo a Day
    • Thank you
    • Birthday
    • Party favor
  • Projects can be cards, scrapbook pages, home décor, holiday décor, birthday decorations, etc.  If you can make it with Stampin’ Up! product, you can submit it!
  • Submit your projects by e-mail. Send an image (less than 2 MB), supply list, and instructions for creating the project to kitideas@stampinup.com. In the subject line, include the name of your project.
  • Please keep in mind that all submissions become the property of Stampin’ Up! once received. Stampin Up reserves the right to change project elements, the name, or any feature to make the kit easy to reproduce.
  • What’s in it for you? Glad you asked! Those who submit the winning kit will:
    • See it – your photo, name, and project will be posted online.
    • Flaunt it – you’ll receive “blog badge” for your personal blog or website.
    • Spend it – you wouldn’t be a winner without a $100 Stampin’ Up! shopping spree.
  • That’s not all! Those whose submissions are in the top 20 will also receive product used in the winning kit or a $25 shopping spree of their own.

Watch for more information with details about how to vote!

Happy Labor Day

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!  I hope you enjoy your day celebrating Labor Day with friends and family.  Do you know why we celebrate Labor Day?  It’s a day of rest for “workers”.  Below  is some history about Labor Day.

The first Labor Day was held in 1882. Its origins stem from the desire of the Central Labor Union to create a holiday for workers. It became a federal holiday in 1894. It was originally intended that the day would be filled with a street parade to allow the public to appreciate the work of the trade and labor organizations. After the parade, a festival was to be held to amuse local workers and their families. In later years, prominent men and women held speeches. This is less common now, but is sometimes seen in election years. One of the reasons for choosing to celebrate this on the first Monday in September was to add a holiday in the long gap between Independence Day and Thanksgiving.”

Enjoy your day!!

FLAG DAY – Card

HAPPY FLAG DAY!!!  Did you know that on June 14, 1777 the Continental Congress of the Stars and Stripes adopted the Stars and Strips as the official flag of the United States (U.S.)?  That’s true!  Consequently, a law was enacted that designated today as Flag Day

Flag Day is a day that the President of the U.S. calls on U.S. Government officials to display the flag of the U.S. on all government buildings, and urges people of the U.S. to observe June 14 as Flag Day to celebrate the anniversary of the adoption of our official flag.

This day is important to my family as it also is my late Dad’s birthday.  He LOVED the American Flag, and displayed it everywhere he could as well as purchased anything that had the flag on it.  This card is in celebration of both special events.

Does my flag look like it’s waving in the wing like the one above?  I meant for it to.

God bless the United States of America, and may we look upon our flag in a special way today.

 God’s Blessings!
