Breast Cancer Awareness-Guneaux Designs Sliced Rock Technique

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I decided to create a card that features Guneaux Designs Sliced Rock Technique.  I think the card is quite cheerful, which is what a breast cancer patient would need in the way of a card.  When I was recovering from breast cancer, I thoroughly enjoyed receiving cheerful cards.  They lifted my spirits.

Using my Guneaux Designs Sliced Rock Technique, I started making the card by stamping a floral image on a small piece of Stampin’ Up! Whisper White card stock. The floral image is from the Stampin’ Up! Flower Shop stamp set.  Using various shades of pink, I colored the flower and began implementing the Guneaux Designs Sliced Rock Technique.  You can see that I started creating the “rings” around the flower with two shades of pink and ended with shades of yellow and green.

I stopped with the technique when I reached five rings around the flower.  I did this so I would have room for my heart design around the sliced rock floral design and to be able to stamp the Ribbon of Hope stamp around the flower.  I used Versamark Ink and White Embossing Powder for the ribbon.

To form the heart around the floral design, I placed a heart-shaped Post-It note over the flower.  Afterwards, I used a brayer to apply Pink Pirouette Classic Ink across the Whisper White card stock. Then I formed the shape of the heart with Ranger Yellow Stickles.  I think the yellow stickle helps the floral design to pop on the card.

For the sentiment on the Breast Cancer Awareness card, I used the HOPE stamp from the retired Stampin’ Up! Strength & Hope stamp set.

Stampin Up Happy Scenes-Bohemian DSP

Hello Stampers and Friends!  Today I have a card for you that I made with the Stampin Up Happy Scenes stamp set and Bohemian Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I used two stamps from the Stampin Up Happy Scenes photopolymer stamp set and a brayer to create this “happy scene”!  I initially planned to use the Stampin Up Hearth and Home Thinlits Dies that come with the Happy Scenes Photopolymer Bundle (140853). Unfortunately, the thinlits dies are on back order and did not arrive with my order (sad face)!  Regardless, I improvised.

Stampin Up Happy Scenes-Bohemian DSP

I improvised by using the Spellbinders Leafy Squares Nestabilities Decorative Elements, which are small squares.  The 3″ x 3″ scene that I designed fits perfectly inside the largest Leafy Square cutout.   The Leafy Squares dies cut out tiny leaves when they are run through the Big Shot. You can see the cute little leaves lying on the envelope in the above picture, however, the following picture shows them better.

The stamps within the Stampin Up Happy Scenes stamp set are small and are intended to create a small “scene”.  You can get a good sense for the size of the stamps in the following picture:

As you can see in the following closeup of the scene, I used the pine trees and fall tree stamps from the Stampin Up Happy Scenes stamp set.

I did not want to waste the tiny leaf cutouts so I included them beneath the trees on the front and inside of my card.

Happy Birthday Card for Him – Brayer Project – Guneaux Designs

Happy Birthday to my brother!!  I made this Happy Birthday card for him using a brayer.  I don’t create many brayered projects; but when I do, I love the process!

Happy Birthday Card for Him - Brayer Project

The Happy Birthday card features some of Stampin’ Up!’s new and upcoming Annual Catalog products.  The card base was made with the new 2013-2015 In Color, Pistachio Pudding Card Stock (131294).  The second layer is the new card stock in the Subtles Collection, Soft Sky (131203). The sky was brayered with Soft Sky Classic Ink (131181) and Marina Mist Classic Ink (126962).  The field was brayered with the new 2013-2015 In Color, Pistachio Pudding Classic Ink (131177), Old Olive Classic Ink (126953), Always Artichoke Classic Ink (126972), and another new 2013-2015 In Color, Baked Brown Sugar (131174).

The stamp image of the mare and her foal is not a Stampin’ Up! product.  However, I love the stamp, and my brother loves horses.  They have always been of big part of his life. The “Happy Birthday” sentiment is from an upcoming Hostess set, Morning Meadow (129678).

REMINDER:  There are 18 days left to purchase the Stampin’ Up! retiring stamp sets and retiring accessories.

Brayered Greeting Card – Lovely As A Tree

Let me start off my Monday by sharing a beautiful brayered greeting card.  It has been a while since I’ve created a brayered greeting card.  My intend for this card was to create an autumn theme.  Hopefully, that is what you see also.

Brayered Greeting Card

I’m sure you noticed a stamp image that isn’t one from Stampin’ Up!’s.  I’ve had the leaves stamp for several years, and wanted to use it since Stampin Up doesn’t have an equivalent one.  I needed leaves falling from the trees to represent Autumn.  Thus, that stamp came in handy.

To move on, the primary stamp images on this brayered greeting card are from the Lovely As A Tree stamp set.  This Stampin’ Up! stamp set seems to get featured a lot in brayered greeting cards.  I love the stamp set, and hope it stays around for a long time.

Stampin Up Out West Happy Birthday Card – Brayering

It has been a while since I’ve used my Stampin’ Up! brayer, so I decided to use it to create this card, featuring the Stampin Up Out West stamp set, for my special brother who has a birthday Saturday.  He is a horse lover and has had many beautiful, special horses in his lifetime.  Therefore, I wanted a horse stamp for the card.  I chose to use a retiring Stampin’ Up! stamp set, Out West, that met my need for a horse stamp.  The brayering on this card was inspired by Michelle Zindorf, who taught me how to use a brayer.  If you are interested in taking one of her classes (she travels all over the US), click here.

As you can see, the card is an easel card.

Happy Birthday Easel Card, Brayer Beach Scene

Happy Birthday Easel Card – Brayer Beach Scene

Happy Birthday Easel Card, Brayer Beach Scene

Having spent the holidays on a Caribbean cruise with special friends, I decided to create a beach scene with the color of the Caribbean Sea for a Happy Birthday Easel Card.  Today is the birthday of one of the special friends, and I made this card for him.  I hope his day includes many blessings and plenty of cake and ice cream!

The beach scene was created by using a Brayer Art Tool and various Stampin’ Up! inks.  The Stampin’ Up! ink colors I used are:

The palm trees were made with a stamp image from Plant Hope.  The sentiment, Happy Birthday, is from the Bring on the Cake stamp set.  Enjoy!
