Stampin Up Tea for Two DSP

Loving the  Stampin Up Tea for Two DSP, I made another card that is just like the one I shared yesterday, except I used another design from the Designer Series Paper and other embellishments.  Today’s card focuses on the following design from the Stampin Up Tea for Two DSP.

Here is the card.  I used the same sentiment that I used on yesterday’s card and I created it again with My Digital Studio (MDS).  Among many other things, MDS is great for producing sentiments that you don’t have on a stamp.

I’m not sure which of the two cards (yesterday’s and today’s) I like the best.  Which one do you like best?

Here is a closeup of the sentiment on today’s card.  Guess what I used around the bottom layer of the sentiment?  I won’t list the item in my “Supplies Used” section so you don’t need to look there for the answer. (LOL)

Stampin Up Valentine Cards 2013

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and we’re all thinking about making beautiful  Stampin Up Valentine Cards, such as my card share for today.

Stampin Up Valentine Cards 2013

Do you have retired Stampin Up products that you find yourself still using?  Aren’t there some items you just cannot give up?  Well, I experience this from time to time, as I did when making this Stampin Up Valentine Card.

This valentine card is simple to make but can take a little time because I used a lot of the retired Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder (don’t know why the item was retired!), which takes some time.  You can see better in the below picture all the elements on which I used the embossing powder.

Stampin Up Valentine Cards 2013

The embossing powder was used on the Whisper White Card Stock piece to the left on which I used the Adorning Accents Edgelits (125595).  It was also used on the blending ink art piece (click HERE for instructions on the technique), the laser-cut heart on the bottom of the multiple layers of hearts, and the second heart from the top.  The laser-cut heart, which is Primrose Petals in color, is in the new Stampin Up More Amore Specialty DSP (129309).

Stampin Up Valentine Cards

Enjoy making Stampin Up Valentine Cards!

Stampin Up Tea for Two DSP and Secret Garden Stamp Set

I love the floral design from the new Stampin Up Tea for Two Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Further, the Secret Garden Stamp Set is one of my favorites from the Stampin Up Spring 2013 Catalog along with the matching Secret Garden Framelits!

This is the card I made using the new products.  (FYI, there is a tool tip at the end of this post.)

This picture is a closeup of the beautiful images from the Secret Garden Stamp Set.

This picture shows the bow I made while weaving in some baker’s twine.

SUPPLIES:

Stamp Sets:  Stampin Up Secret Garden and Friendship Preserves (for the sentiment)

Paper:  Stampin Up Tea for Two DSP (129311), Primrose Petals Core’Dinations Card Stock (129322), Very Vanilla Card Stock (101650), Whisper White Card Stock (100730), and Lucky Limeade Card Stock (122926)

Ink:  Lucky Limeade (126984), Primrose Petals (126858), Daffodil Delight Marker (119677), Memento Tuxedo Black, and various non-Stampin Up Makers for the center flower.

Accessories:  Sanding Block (124304 – to sand the core’dinations card stock), Stripes Textured Embossing Folder (123128), Blossom Punch (125603  –  for leaves), Secret Garden Framelits (129372 or 131099 for the Secret Garden Bundle – clear mount), In Color Printed Designer Brads (122940), 5/8″ Crochet Trim (118481), Whisper White Baker’s Twine (124262 – soaked in a water and Primrose Petals Ink mixture)

TOOL TIP:  When cutting with any of the Stampin’ Up! framelits, a mat is created around the image being cut out.  The color of the mat is the same color as the card stock on which the image is stamped.  You can choose to use a framelit that is  the next size up to create a mat of a different color of card stock; however, I believe this process makes the mat too large.  To get a perfect mat of a different color of card stock that is a reasonable size, try this tip:

  • Cut out your image with a framelit,
  • Cut around the edge of the image using paper snips to leave only the outline of the stamp image,
  • Cut a mat from a different color of card stock, using the same framelit.
  • Now you have a perfect mat of a different color and a small size!

Stampin Up Tea for Two DSP and Secret Garden Stamp Set

Bigz Element Bird Die Valentine Card

Isn’t the new Stampin’ Up! Bigz Elegant Bird Die adorable? I used him for the primary element on this Valentine Card. The paper used on the first card layer is one of the designs from the Sweet Shop Designer Series Specialty Paper, which dictated my color choices.

Bigz Element Bird Die Valentine Card

I cut out the bird using Pool Party Cardstock and covered it with the new White Waffle Paper to give it some texture. Then I embellished one wing with the Adorning Accents Hearts Embossing FolderI embossed both wings with Iridescent Ice Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Around the bird’s neck I hung a Trinket Heart that contains a “Be Mine” sentiment from the Sale-A-Bration Outlined Occasions Stamp Set (126016).  It is difficult to see as I added Crystal Effects, which sometimes distorts lettering.  Maybe the picture below will give you a better view. And the next picture shows the added hearts onto the bird’s tail features (did you notice that?).

The tiny hearts are from what remains as cutouts after using the Pinking Heart Border Punch. I thought why waste them, so I added them here and there on the card. If you enjoyed the card, please leave a comment.

Stampin Up Hearts Framelits Valentine Card

Are you enjoying the new Stampin Up Hearts Framelits? Aren’t they fantastic? Or maybe you haven’t ordered them yet! Please do; you’ll love them! I used one when developing this Valentine Card.

Stampin Up Hearts Framelits

I water colored the primary element on this card – the stamped bird and flowers heart-shaped image that is from the gorgeous stamp set, Take it to Heart. I used one of the Stampin Up Hearts Framelits to cut out the stamped image. I used the same framelit to cut out the heart in the center of the card’s first layer, the Cherry Cobbler Cardstock, and then slipped the water-colored piece inside.

The banner that holds the sentiment is also from the Take it to Heart stamp set. The sentiment, “Be My Valentine”, is from the Sweet Cake stamp set, and the small heart stamp from the Take it to Heart stamp set was used to stamp Cherry Cobbler ink onto the card’s first layer. The card base was made with Island Indigo Cardstock. The hearts in the four corners of the card were cut out with the Heart to Heart Punch and embellished with the new hearts Adorning Accents Embossing Folder. I hope you enjoy today’s feature!

This picture provides a closeup of the water-colored bird and flowers.

Stampin Up Valentine Card-Guneaux Designs

If I have to say it myself, I think this Stampin Up Valentine Card is beautiful. The center piece of the card features Stampin’ Up!’s new Framelits Dies, the Labels Collection from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Are you enjoying your Stampin’ Up! 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog?  Isn’t it full of beautiful stamps, papers, dies, and embellishments? Today’s card features one of the Occasions Mini products and others from the upcoming Sale-A-Bration Catalog that debuts on January 24th.

Stampin Up Valentine Card
I used two sizes of the labels framelits dies to cut Silver Glimmer Paper*, Whisper White, and Basic Black frames. After cutting the Basic Black frame, I used paper snips to cut off about an 1/8″ around the frame. This gives the appearance that I used three separate framelits dies. The Silver Glimmer Paper* behind the Basic Black frame gives the centerpiece a nice pop.The centerpiece’s floral image (beneath the hearts) on the Whisper White frame is from the Fresh Vintage Stamp Set (125117-Clear) from the upcoming Sale-A-Bration Catalog. This stamp set is FREE when you purchase $50 of Stampin’ Up! products (taxes and shipping apply) during Sale-A-Bration. Atop the floral image are three hearts, one of which is made with the Silver Glimmer Paper*, and two made from stamp images in the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set. These images were stamped with Real Red Ink and embellished with Basic Rhinestones. Behind the centerpiece is a piece of Real Red Card Stock that is embellished with the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The sentiment “Be Mine” is from another Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set, the Outlines Occasions (126016), which is also FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration. I used the Scallop Trim Border Punch to create the embellishment on the left side of the card, and a ribbon strip and bow made with retired Stampin’ Up! ribbon on the right side. Enjoy!
*The Silver Glimmer Paper is a “carry over” from the 2011 Holiday Mini Catalog.

I hope you have enjoyed this Stampin Up Valentine Card!
