Trust God Stamp Set

Trust God Stamp SetHope you are having a good weekend!  Today’s card features the Stampin’ Up! Trust God Stamp Set, as well as the Secret Garden Stamp Set.  I think the card is very pretty and soothing.

The Trust God Stamp Set is one of my favorites, and I am thankful it is not on Stampin’ Up!’s retiring products list.  My opinion is that the stamp set is great for cards of encouragement and to let friends and loved ones know you are thinking of them.

To make the card, I used VersaMark to randomly stamp the large flower from the Secret Garden Stamp Set onto a piece of Whisper White Card Stock.  The flowers were covered with Pewter Stampin’ Embossing Powder and heat set.

Then I randomly sponged three classic inks around the card stock. I used the returning Soft Sky and Crushed Curry, and the current Melon Mambo classic inks.  I really like the look of blending inks.

Using VersaMark, I stamped the sentiment from the Trust God Stamp Set onto a small piece of Whisper White Card Stock, covered it with the Pewter Stampin’ Embossing Powder and heat set it.  I used the Stampin’ Up! Oval Framelits to cut out the sentiment and a Soft Sky Mat for it.  I added six Basic Rhinestones to give the card a little bling.  Before attaching the sentiment and mat to the card, I attached a piece of Soft Sky Ribbon to the center of the card.  (So glad I still have some of the Stampin’ Up products in the returning colors!)

TRUST GOD STAMP SET AND SECRET GARDEN STAMP SET

Secret Garden and Fabulous Florets – Stampin’ Up!

Secret Garden and Fabulous Florets - Stampin' Up!

I love this card that I made!  It features the Stampin’ Up! Secret Garden and Fabulous Florets Stamp Sets.  This card also features the Masking Technique.  I had to do a lot of masking to get the effect I wanted, especially for the floral stems.

Do you get the correlation between the card’s sentiment and the stamped images?  There are multiple pinkish flowers and one turquoise flower on the card.  Thus, the “There’s Only One You” sentiment is quite fitting.  Don’t you agree?  The sentiment is from the recent Sale-a-bration Vintage Verses Stamp Set. Secret Garden and Fabulous Florets - Stampin' Up!

As it relates to the positioning of the card stock layers, the design for this card is quite similar to the card I shared yesterday.

The card base is made with Regal Rose Card Stock.  The Basic Black Card Stock and Tempting Turquoise Card Stock are the same size as the Real Red and Basic Black Card Stock on yesterday’s card.

I typically do not show the envelope I make for my cards; however, I have recently.  I think a matching envelope is necessary for a complete package.

Can you see the very light gray around the flowers and stems?  The purpose of this is to create shadows that would be cast if the light were coming from the top-right side.  This technique also creates dimension for the objects.

Secret Garden Stamp Set Stampin’ Up!

SECRET GARDEN STAMP SET – STAMPIN’ UP!

Secret Garden Stamp Set and Watercoloring

I certainly hope that Stampin’ Up!’s Secret Garden Stamp Set is carried over in the upcoming 2013-2014 Annual Catalog.  I have found myself gravitating to this stamp set quite often when making cards.

Today’s card features two stamp images from the Secret Garden Stamp Set.  I stamped the floral and leaves images from the stamp set onto a piece of Stampin’ Up!’s Watercolor Paper.

Secret Garden Stamp SetI stamped on Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry Card Stock and cut out the three butterflies on the card front.  The butterflies are from the Kindness Matters Stamp Set.

The beautiful flower that is featured on the card front was stamped on the watercolor paper using Jet Black StazOn Ink.  I then water colored it with the Stampin’ Up! Rich Razzelberry Classic Ink.  After water coloring the flower, I masked it and stamped the stem and leaves from the Secret Garden Stamp Set. Secret Garden Stamp Set - Water ColoringThe sentiment, Happy Birthday (from the Apothecary Stamp Set), was stamped onto the watercolor paper with VersaMark Ink and then embossed with Gumball Green Embossing Powder.  I hope you enjoy it.

SECRET GARDEN STAMP SET STAMPIN’ UP!

Stampin Up Easter Blessings And Secret Garden

Stampin Up Easter Blessings

I have a quick card for you today that features the Stampin Up Easter Blessings and Stampin Up Secret Garden Stamp Sets.

If you read my post on Wednesday, I shared a beautiful card featuring a technique that uses Stampin’ Up!’s White Craft Ink.  In that post, I shared that I wanted to try the technique on a dark card stock.  So today I did.

I covered the flower image with VersaMark Ink, white embossed it, and heat set the image.  Then using an Aqua Painter, I covered the flower with the White Craft Ink.  After allowing the image to dry, I used markers to color the flower shades of yellow.  It is a very simple and easy technique.  However, using the craft ink on a dark card stock certainly will show all mistakes!

I encourage you to try this technique as I believe you’ll enjoy the results.  I have to admit that I think I like the technique on the Crumb Cake card stock better than on a darker piece of card stock.

Look at the card I posted Wednesday and tell me if you like the technique better on Crumb Cake or a darker card stock.

STAMPIN UP EASTER BLESSINGS

Stampin Up Secret Garden Stamp Set

I am so ready for Spring, and the Stampin Up Secret Garden Stamp Set is perfect for making a Spring-related card.  The more I use the Stampin Up Secret Garden Stamp Set, the more I like it.  I think that the card I have for you today is beautiful, if I have to say so myself.  It features the Secret Garden Stamp Set.

I created a matching envelope for the card using the same stamp set.  It is seen better in following picture.

Creating this card took some time for me as it involves using Stampin’ Up!’s White Craft Ink as the initial layer of ink for the flowers.  This card is the first one I’ve made using this technique, of which I don’t know the name.

This technique is so beautiful on Stampin’ Up!’s Crumb Cake Card Stock.  I think I will try it on a dark card stock to see if it is as beautiful.

As you can see in this  picture, I used the Masking Technique to stamp the stem and leaves stamp image from the Stampin Up Secret Garden Stamp Set.  I used Gumball Green Classic Ink to stamp the image.

The first step when using the White Craft Ink technique is to cover your stamp(s) with VersaMark Ink.  Stamp the image(s) onto the card stock and cover with Stampin’ Up!’s White Embossing Powder.  Heat set the image and begain covering the image(s) using an Aqua Painter and the White Craft Ink.  After the White Craft Ink dries, begin to apply ink colors of your choice onto the image(s).  Begin with lighter colors and move to darker colors.  After applying the White Craft Ink, I used alcohol markers to color layers of ink onto the flowers.

Accessories: Bitty Banners Framelits (129267),  Whisper White 5/8″ Organza Ribbon (114319), White Embossing Powder (109132), and Aqua Painter (103954)

STAMPIN UP SECRET GARDEN STAMP SET

Stampin Up Secret Garden & Tea for Two DSP

What thoughts does your mind conjure up when you think of a Secret Garden?  I think of drifting through paths of beautiful flowers and floral trees and bushes as I daydream and push the stresses of life into the background.  I hear Irish music that carries me from Stampin Up Secret Gardenplace to place within the Secret Garden.  I enjoy beautiful butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and other forms of nature as the aroma of many floral scents rush past my nostrils.  I sit on a bench, laying my head back and watching the sunshine peeking down through the tree branches as I drift off into a dream of floating from flower to flower.

Stampin Up Secret GardenThen I hear, “Bevvverrrly”!  I quickly awake and realize I’m in my crafting room creating a beautiful card with the Stampin Up Secret Garden Stamp Set.  Gee, I like my daydream! (LOL)  Here is the card I developed during this daydream.

I tend to be attracted to pink or pinkish flowers.  My gardens have basically floral bushes of various sorts that bloom in shades of pink.  I venture to guess that is what controlled my creation as I developed this card with pinkish flowers.

Yes, I know that the floral design I used from the Tea for Two DSP is supposed to be Calypso Coral in color.  However, I just don’t see it.  When I place a piece of Calypso Carol Card Stock next to the flowers in this floral design, I am NOT convinced that the color is Calypso Coral.  It lends itself more toward a pinkish color.  If you disagree, please feel free to set me straight!

This picture is the inside of the card. The sentiment, Wishing You A Day As Perfect As YOU Are, is from the Stampin Up Vintage Verses Stamp Set.

SUPPLIES USED TO CREATE THIS STAMPIN UP SECRET GARDEN CARD:

Ink:  Lucky Limeade Classic Ink, Primrose Petals Classic Ink, and non-Stampin Up Markers
