Merry Christmas Poinsettias

Hi, crafters!!  Today I have a great card to share that is a Merry Christmas card featuring Poinsettias!  Yes, I know, it’s July!!  So why am I sharing a Merry Christmas Poinsettias card?  Well, today on Splitcoaststampers, the Clean and Simple Challenge was to create a Christmas card.  Therefore, I created this card and submitted it for the challenge.

Merry Christmas Poinsettias

To make the card, I created two masks of the Poinsettia stamp using Post-it Labeling Tape. I stamped one Poinsettia, masked it, stamped another, masked it, and so on. I stamped and masked until the white card stock was covered in Poinsettias.

Merry Christmas Poinsettias

I colored the Poinsettias with the below Copic Sketch Markers. It only took me all day to color them!!  I adhered a ribbon across the middle of the card stock, stamped my sentiment, die cut the sentiment, added foam tape to the back of the die cut and mounted it onto the front over the ribbon.

Merry Christmas Poinsettias

I attached this piece to a piece of SU Red Glitter Paper and that to a whisper white card base.

Merry Christmas Poinsettias

I hope you enjoy the Merry Christmas Poinsettias card!  Questions or comments?  Please leave them in the comments section!

Jesus prays for all believers while He was on earth…“My prayer is not for them alone.  I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.  May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”  John 17:20-21

Lovely Flowers

It’s summertime and we are enjoying lovely flowers from our gardens!  Do you have a favorite summertime flower?  As for me, there are so many lovely flowers that it’s difficult for me to pick just one!

For my card share today, I have a beautiful card that was inspired by a Pinterest Board of dozens of beautiful bowls.

Lovely Flowers_1

The following is a photo of the bowl that inspired me.

Ceramic Bowl Flowers Blue Black White Botanicals Painted Floral Turquoise Housewarming Wedding Gift by sewZinski.:

I didn’t think I would like stamping flowers at the top of my card and leaving the bottom as blue card stock in order to replicate the bowl.  Thus, I reversed the placement of the flowers.

Lovely Flowers3_1

I used both the Catherine Pooler Lovely Flowers stamp set and Stampin’ Up! retired Secret Garden stamp set to make the flowers.  The larger flowers are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set, and the small blue ones are from the Catherine Pooler Lovely Flowers stamp set.  Note that I added some color to the bigger flowers as I wanted to give them some dimension.  I used three Copic Sketch Markers in the gray family, C00, C01, and C03, to create shading on the flowers.  I also traced around the flowers with Copic Sketch Marker B91, which is a blue color.  Then I added the small blue flowers from the Lovely Flowers stamp set

Lovely Flowers2_1

I used an Anna Griffin embossing folder of flowers to emboss the blue card stock and cut it with a die to form the wave that is similar to that on the bowl.

Lovely Flowers4_1

To finish the card, I added the sentiment, You’re Amazingly Amazing, which is from Catherine Pooler’s Lovely Flowers stamp set.

Lastly, I submitted this card to a Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge and it was selected as a Favorite of the Week ending July 24, 2016.

Questions and comments are very welcomed!

ODBD Sunburst Background Die

Hey, Sunshine!!  That’s the name of Carla’s (aka uvgotcarla) “Clean And Simple” Challenge for today on Splitcoaststampers.  Her challenge is to create a card using some kind of sun element in the design. To create my card, I used white card stock to cut out the ODBD Sunburst Background Die. I laid the die over the sunburst cutout and used a fantastic Clarity Stencil Brush to brush on the two inks. (The Clarity Stencil Brushes are remarkable.)

Sunburst Background_1

I cut out a fence using a wood-grain DSP and ODBD Fence Die, green grass using Lawn Fawn’s Grassy Border Die, and green stems and various colors of flowers using the Impression Obsession Bouquet Die.  I assembled and attached them to the bottom of the sunburst.  I created a digital sentiment that was cut out with an ODBD Mini Tags & Labels Die and attached to the card front slightly over the sun.

Lovely Notes Collection

Today the outstanding artist, Kittie (kittie747) on Splitcoaststampers chose another remarkable artist to be the Featured Stamper for this week. That artist is the one and only Vickie Yeakley (Vickie Y.) CONGRATS, Vickie!!!  I used Catherine Pooler’s Lovely Notes Collection to create this card in honor of Vickie.

Lovely Notes_1To participate in the Featured Stamper Challenge, you select a card of the featured stamper to CASE, changing at least two things.  I chose one of Vickie’s card that is actually in my Favorites List today, “Lace Border vky”. I love the design of her card, and decided I would honor Vickie by creating a similar card. This is her card.

Things that I changed from Vickie’s original:

1. Color Choices (her colors are a shade of lavender and green)
2. Stamped Images (except for the sentiment, she has no stamped images)
3. Sentiment (her sentiment is, “Just Saying Hello”)
4. Position of the border cuts (her borders run from corner to corner)
5. Die Cut Outs (she has a butterfly and flower)

Lovely Notes Collection

For my card, I used the stamps from the Lovely Notes Collection (Catherine Pooler) to randomly stamp flowers and foliage onto the solar white card stock. I used one of the Spellbinders dies to create borders and popped up the two pieces with foam tape onto a Tempting Turquoise Pierced Rectangle. I also created three flowers (on the left side), die cut them, and adhered them to the card front with foam tape. This was attached to the Daffodil Delight card base.

I felt the sentiment, Celebrate, is quite appropriate as we are celebrating one of SCS favorite artist!

Lovely Notes Collection

Enjoy and have a wonderful, blessed day!

Jesus said:  “In that day you will no longer ask me anything.  I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.  Until now you have not asked for anything in my name.  Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.”  John 16:23-24

SU Fifth Avenue Floral

Hello, stampers!!  So glad you stopped by as I have for you today a Happy Mother’s Day card featuring Stampin’ Up! (SU) Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp Set, which is retired.  I made the card for the following Sketch Challenge on Splitcoaststampers:

SC588

The Sketch Challenge, SC588, hosted by Carey aka cpayette, was fun but took some time to discern.

SU Fifth Avenue Floral

I was undecided about how to approach the challenge initially. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to use designer series paper or not, and if so, where in the design. Then I found in my cabinet an OLD SU designer series paper (i.e., Sweet & Sour Speciality Designer Series Paper) and I knew the answer to the question I was pondering. To me, this paper is so pretty with Rose Red and Pumpkin Pie as the main colors. You can’t see it in the photo, but the paper comes with one side of all the designs embossed.

(UPDATE:  This card is a Favorite for the Week Ending April 17, 2016 on Splitcoaststampers!)

I then decided I wanted a floral image on the card and decided on the Hibiscus stamp from the SU Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. I have many beautiful Hibiscus bushes in my yard, so they are special to me. Not my favorite flower, but special.

I used the swirly stamp from Everything Eleanor to create my stem after masking the flower. To give the image a little something extra, I used SU Rose Red and Pumpkin Pie Candy Dots and included two bees.

I hope you enjoy the card, and thanks for looking and leaving a comment!!

God’s Blessings!

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.  Make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace.”  Ephesians 4:2-3

SU Everything Eleanor

Hello, and welcome to Guneaux Designs!  Today I have for you a card that features the current Stampin’ Up! (SU) Everything Eleanor Stamp Set.

SU Everything Eleanor

I created this card to submit to a Splitcoaststampers Challenge, Ways To Use It, WT575, hosted by Sabrina (Cook22).  The challenge simply was to think in threes!  Thus, I added three flowers, three layers, and  three Swarovski Crystals.

(This card was included in Splitcoaststampers Favorites of the Week ending March 20, 2016.)

I created the floral images by strategically placing them on my MISTI before stamping. (Love the MISTI!)  After stamping the floral images onto the panel with SU inks, I used Copics to enhance the flowers and fill in the white spaces.  After stamping the images onto the card stock, I stamped them onto a piece of Frog Tape to use as masks over the images before adding the stems. I used the swirly stamp from the SU Everything Eleanor Stamp Set to create the stems for the flowers.

As for the ribbon, I punched two slots near the bottom of the “stems” to thread the ribbon through. I threaded both ribbon ends through the slots on the front side, crisscrossed the ends on the back side, and threaded the ribbon ends through the back to the front. That gives the appearance of a ribbon being tied into a knot.

After finishing my panel, I spritzed Hello Honey ink onto the Whisper White panel.  The following are more photos.  I didn’t add a sentiment on the card front, but inside the message is “Thinking of You”!

“Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all you sould and with all your mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”  Matthew 22:37
