Cottage Cutz Jolly Snowman

cottage-cutz-jolly-snowman_1Hello, my special friends!  I have for you today a card I made featuring the Cottage Cutz Jolly Snowman.

This card is for the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge for this week.  The colors chosen for the challenge are Blushing Bride, Soft Sky, and Wild Wasabi, which are Stampin’ Up! colors.Cottage Cutz Jolly Snowman  These colors are gorgeous together, and most would not think of using them for a Christmas scene.  I thought they would be great as a non-traditional Christmas card, and after creating the card, I believe that even more.

To create this card, I:

  • Cut a 5″ x 3-3/4″ piece of white card stock,
  • On this piece of card stock, sponged the sky with Soft Sky and Blushing Bride ink (placed a circle of labeling tape on the card stock for a moon),
  • Cut out all the pieces from the Cottage Cutz Jolly Snowman Die using the three selected colors of card stock, as well as Neenah Solar White and SU Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock,
  • Used Copic Sketch Markers that are colors close to the selected colors to add shading to the die cuts,
  • Added SU Dazzling Details (i.e., glitter glue – retired) and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to the snowman and puppy’s hats,
  • Assembled the snowman and puppy die cuts and set it aside,
  • Cut out twocottage-cutz-jolly-snowman-d_1 “hillsides” with Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Border Dies from white card stock,
  • Added adhesive to the two hillsides and covered with Martha Stewart Crystal Tinsel Glitter (retired),
  • Cut out three trees with the Cottage Cutz Mountain Lodge Die, added snow onto them with a Marvy Uchida Snow Maker applicator, and adhered them to the top right of the sponged card stock,
  • Used the snow maker onto the sky area for snow flakes,
  • cottage-cutz-jolly-snowman-c_1
  • Added one layer of foam mounting tape to the taller hillside and adhered to the card stock,
  • Added two layers of foam tape to the shortest hillside and adhered to the card stock,
  • Die cut the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Cottage Cutz Merry Christmas die,
  • Cut the sentiment die cut apart and added selected pieces to the first and second hillsides,
  • Added foam tape to the snowman and puppy piece, and
  • Attached the completed piece to a Blushing Bride card base.

When Jesus sent out his twelve disciples to drive out evil spirits and heal every disease and sickness, He said to them, “Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven.  But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.”  Matthew 10:32-33

Cottage Cutz Woodland Pine Trees

Hello, and thanks for stopping by.  I have a card for you today that features the Cottage Cutz Woodland Pine Trees Dies and Cottage Cutz Deer Die.  I created the card in response to today’s “Ways To Use It Challenge”, WT599, on Splitcoaststampers website. The hostess for the challenge is the very talented Lisa (Shoe Girl), and she gave us an easy challenge.  She asked that we create a HELLO card.

Cottage Cutz Woodland Pines

To create the card, I cut out the Cottage Cutz Woodland Pine Trees and covered them with FlitterGlu (i.e., a glue for gilding flakes and glitter), to which I added Cosmic Shimmer Mulled Wine Gilding Flakes.  Using a piece of Scoochy Foam, I rubbed the excess flakes from the trees.  This photo shows the aftereffects.

Next, I cut a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Solar White card stock and sponged a sunset scene using Stampin’ Up! orange and green inks. Then, I cut out two hills with the Lawn Fawn Borders Dies.  I sponged Stampin’ Up! Always Artichoke ink onto the two pieces and adhered them together with foam tape.  Using foam tape, I attached the hills to the sunset piece of card stock.

I used the Cottage Cutz Deer Dies to cut out the deer from Solar White Card Stock.  I used Copic Sketch Markers to color them and the antlers.  I then strategically added the trees and deer to the card.

I love the outcome of the card, and I hope you are inspired by it.

The Lord appears to Solomon:  “When Solomon had finished the temple of the Lord and the royal palace, and had succeeded in carrying out all he had to do in the temple of the Lord and in his own palace, the Lord appeared to him at night and said:  “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices….if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.””  2 Chronicles 7:11-12 & 14.

Winter Wonderland Scene

It’s Tuesday and that means it another Color Challenge on Splitcoaststampers!  The colors selected for today’s challenge are Stampin’ Up! (SU) Pool Party, Always Artichoke, and Cherry Cobbler!  For extra points (i.e., dessert), I included some “Bling”! My card, a Winter Wonderland Scene, is my submission for the challenge.  This is the third week that I have been a guest designer for the Splitcoaststampers color challenges and I’ve enjoyed it!

Winter Wonderland Scene

My card’s main feature is a Winter Wonderland Scene made with a Cottage Cutz die and Solar White Card Stock.  To break up the white and create a red building, I cut out a second Winter Wonderland Scene using Cherry Cobbler Card Stock.  I cut off the red church from the die cut and adhered it to the original white one.  I also used an Impression Obsession Die to cut and add three cardinals.

Winter Wonderland Scene_1

To get extra points (i.e., dessert) for the card, I added various colors of Stickles glue around the scene!  Hopefully it shows up well enough for you to see the bling.

Winter Wonderland Scene-1_1

Finally, I added a poinsettia on the left-bottom corner that I made with Spellbinders dies. I added Gold Flower Soft to the center of the flower.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed your visit!

Beach Scene

Today on Splitcoaststampers is a Color Challenge featuring Stampin’ Up! Colors of Soft Sky, Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi, and Crumb Cake.   I created a beach scene card for the challenge.  The scene features several dies from Impression Obsession, Marianne Design, Frantic Stamper Inc., Cottage Cutz, and Spellbinders.

If you want to play along with the Challenge, you can do so HERE!

7-10-16 UPDATE:  This card was included in the Splitcoaststampers Favorites of the Week ending 7-10-16!

7-12-16 UPDATE:  This card was selected as Splitcoaststampers FAVORITE for last week’s Color Challenge, CC590!!

To create the card, I used a 4-1/2″ square piece of Neenah Solar White Card Stock and sponged on the Crumb Cake sand, Marina Mist ocean, and Soft Sky sky.  Because I wanted to use a surfer, I wanted to make the ocean seem a little rough; therefore, I used Liquid Applique and spread it along the shore and into the water.

After cutting out all of the die cuts that I wanted to include on the card from the solar white paper (see list of supplies for the names of the dies), I used Copic Sketch Markers to color each one, and strategically place each cutout onto the scene.  After finishing that, I cut two Spellbinders Nestabilities Fairmont Labels dies, adhered them together with foam tape, and attached them around the scene.  I then added the flipflops and shells around the labels.  The scene was attached to a Wild Wasabi card base.

I really like how the card turned out!  I hope you enjoyed it, and will take time to provide me feedback!

CottageCutz Pelican on Siesta Key Beach

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by to see my CottageCutz Pelican on Siesta Key Beach card.  I love CottageCutz beach-related dies.  This card features one such die, the CottageCutz Pelican Die.  I made this card in response to yesterday’s Free For All, F4A332, Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  The hostess of the challenge asked for beach-theme cards.   Her “dessert” (extra points) was to include red, white, and blue colors on cards.

Living in the west central part of Florida, I get to enjoy the beautiful white sand and turquoise water of the Siesta Key Beach. The beach is gorgeous, and my card is a reflection of it.

These photos are closeups of the card:

The wonderful comments made about this card can be seen HERE on Splitcoaststampers.

Firm Reliance on Divine Providence!

Matthew 22:37-39

(The Greatest Commandment)  “Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it:  Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Cottage Cutz Hummingbird

Hello, my friends!  I am hoping to get back into crafting on a part-time basis at least, and I have for you today a card made with the beautiful Cottage Cutz Hummingbird die.  I die cut the pieces and colored them with copic sketch markers.

Cottage Cutz Hummingbird

The card base is white as well as the first layer that I embellished with a floral embossing folder.  I embossed the bottom portion of this layer very lightly as that is where I’ll place the sentiment when I decide on the recipient of the card.

The photo below is a closeup of the flowers and hummingbird.  I used a clear Wink of Stella Brush to add a shine and glitter to the bird’s wings, and drops of Stampin’ Up! Crystal Effects onto the floral portion of the card.  Hopefully, you can see that in the photo. Actually, I think you can see it better in the first photo…LOL.

JUNE 26, 2016 UPDATE:  Card was included in both the Splitcoaststampers Favorites of the Week, and CAS Favorites.

This photo is a side view of the beautiful hummingbird and floral arrangement.  I used copic sketch markers to color all of the die cuts.
Cottage Cutz Hummingbird-2_1I am posting this card on Splitcoastampers for one of the site’s challenges, the Splitcoaststampers “Wing It” Clean and Simple Challenge CAS382.  The challenge is, “Winging It with Birds, Bees and Butterflies” to celebrate the first day of summer.  Kiagc (aka Kia) is the host for the challenge.  She is such a wonderful lady and I love her work!  Hope you enjoy the card and come back soon!
