Happy Scenes Stamp Set Happy Winter Snowman

Stampers, I have for you a Happy Scenes Happy Winter Snowman!  I wanted to create a snow scene using the Stampin’ Up! Happy Scenes Stamp Set along with a snowman (or snow-girl).  The snow-girl is the primary element on my card.  She is a whimsical and delightful snow-girl and is appearing to be shrugging her shoulders.  Maybe she is just trying to keep warm.  What do you think?Happy Scenes Stamp Set Happy Winter Snowman

To create the “happy scene” for this card,  I wanted to use a technique that I’ve not used in a long time. That technique is coloring with Colored Pencils.  I used Prismacolor Colored Pencils to create the sky and snow. As for the snow-girl, the snowman stamp that I used is from the Outlines Rubber Stamps Co.  I loved the Outlines Rubber Stamp Co. stamps and was heartbroken when the Co. went out of business.  🙁

For the trees in the scene, I used Stampin’ Up! Mossy Meadow ink.  I wanted the trees covered with snow, so I used VersaMark Ink on the tree stamp and stamped it over the Mossy Meadow trees slightly off center.  I then added Stampin’ Up! White Embossing Powder.

My “Happy Winter” sentiment from the Happy Scenes Stamp Set is slightly hidden.  I intentionally adhered the sentiment just under the Mossy Meadow twigs at the bottom right corner.  In the upper left corner, I added some Mossy Meadow pine needles and a brown pine cone.  I created all three of these elements with the Our Daily Bread Designs Lovely Leaves Dies.

Hearth & Home Framelits Dies & Happy Scenes

Thanks for stopping by!  🙂  My share for you today is a Center Step Card that features Stampin’ Up!’s Hearth & Home Framelits Dies and Happy Scenes Stamp Set.  I refer to my card as a Window Frame Wall Mural.  The reason for that is the complete window and frame are a scene instead of a scene outside the window.

Hearth & Home Framelits Dies & Happy Scenes

This card is the first one that I created with the Stampin’ Up! Hearth & Home Framelits Dies.  I ordered the dies many weeks ago and just received them recently.  BTW, if you have this set of dies, notice on the package they arrive in that the dies are called Framelits. However, in the on-line store and the mini catalog the dies are called Thinlits. I don’t know which they are, and it really doesn’t matter to me.  Just a tidbit!

The two columns on the sides of the Center Step Card are enhanced by a wreath that is covered with tiny leaves.  I made the leaves with the Spellbinders Leafy Squares Dies (S4-332). Stampin Up Happy Scenes-Bohemian DSP5 and Spellbinders Leafy Squares  The pictures below give you a closeup of the wreaths which I covered with Stampin’ Up! Crystal Effects.

The picture below is a closeup of the window that I created with the Stampin’ Up! Hearth & Home Framelits Dies and Happy Scenes Stamp Set. It gives you a better idea why I call the card, Window Frame Wall Mural.  🙂

Sunset Scene with Happy Scenes Stamp Set

I have for you today a Sunset Scene featuring the Stampin’ Up! Happy Scenes Stamp Set.  I used the sponging technique to create my “Happy Scene”.

UPDATE:  This card was chosen as one of Splitcoaststampers’ FAVORITES for the week ending on November 8, 2015!  Splitcoaststamper’s comment:

“Congratulations! In the General Stamping forum, you’re in the FAVORITES for the week ending November 8, 2015.”

Using the sponging technique, I created the sunset scene first before using the two stamps from the Stampin’ Up! Happy Scenes Stamp Set to complete the scene.  I love using the Stampin’ Up! Sponges for “sponging”.  I have tried other brands of sponges and I do not get the same result.

What is the sponging technique, you ask?  For the purpose of a greeting card, it is the art Sof using a small portion of a sponge to apply ink in a circular motion onto a piece of card stock.  Sponging is used to achieve a scene, background, or other art form.  When applying the sponging technique for my card, I used several Stampin’ Up! Classic Ink Pads.  The inks I used are: So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette, Concord Crush (old ink pad), Marina Mist, Pacific Point, and Early Espresso (used in this order – hope you can read the light text :-)).

After achieving my scene, I applied ink to two of the stamps from the Stampin’ Up! Happy Scenes Stamp Set and strategically stamped them onto the scene.  The two stamps are of trees.

If you have used the Stampin’ Up! Happy Scenes Stamp Set, what do you think about the birds on the tree stamp that is shown on the left of my card?  Personally, I think whoever designed the stamp did not have a good sense of proportions.  When I stamped the image onto the card, I covered my stamp to prevent the two birds at the bottom from showing.  Just my spin on the stamp!!!

Stampin’ Up! Happy Scenes Stamp Set

Stampin Up Happy Scenes-Bohemian DSP

Hello Stampers and Friends!  Today I have a card for you that I made with the Stampin Up Happy Scenes stamp set and Bohemian Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I used two stamps from the Stampin Up Happy Scenes photopolymer stamp set and a brayer to create this “happy scene”!  I initially planned to use the Stampin Up Hearth and Home Thinlits Dies that come with the Happy Scenes Photopolymer Bundle (140853). Unfortunately, the thinlits dies are on back order and did not arrive with my order (sad face)!  Regardless, I improvised.

Stampin Up Happy Scenes-Bohemian DSP

I improvised by using the Spellbinders Leafy Squares Nestabilities Decorative Elements, which are small squares.  The 3″ x 3″ scene that I designed fits perfectly inside the largest Leafy Square cutout.   The Leafy Squares dies cut out tiny leaves when they are run through the Big Shot. You can see the cute little leaves lying on the envelope in the above picture, however, the following picture shows them better.

The stamps within the Stampin Up Happy Scenes stamp set are small and are intended to create a small “scene”.  You can get a good sense for the size of the stamps in the following picture:

As you can see in the following closeup of the scene, I used the pine trees and fall tree stamps from the Stampin Up Happy Scenes stamp set.

I did not want to waste the tiny leaf cutouts so I included them beneath the trees on the front and inside of my card.
