Guneaux Designs Best Cards for 2017

GUNEAUX DESIGNS BEST CARDS FOR 2017

As the year closes and we bring in 2018, I am looking back at my best cards for 2017 and wanted to share them.  Hopefully, you will come along with me on this journey.  I will post three cards a day, and most likely will post a total of twelve cards.  I posted the cards on Splitcoaststampers (SCS) and/or Pinterest, thus, the comments on SCS and Pinterest PINs will be my guide.  Today, I will post the first three cards.  You can click on the photos to get full details about the cards.  Here is the first of today’s three.

  1.  HONEY BEE LITTLE PICKUP

I made the above card in January 2017, and posted it on Splitcoaststampers.  I received many comments on the card and it was a Splitcoaststampers’ favorite.  I love the mountains that I hand drew for this card.

2 Timothy 1:8-10

“So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner.  But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, who has saved us and called us to a holy life — not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace.  This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but is has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.”

Heartfelt Creations Petunias Birthday Card

HEARTFELT CREATIONS PETUNIAS BIRTHDAY CARD

Welcome!!  I created a gorgeous Heartfelt Creations Petunias Birthday Card today, and want to share it with you.  I live in southern Florida and petunias are still in bloom.  They are such beautiful flowers especially a pot full of different colors. I had such a large pot with different colors of petunias, and they bloomed and bloomed all summer and fall.  They actually continued blooming into the early winter.  They were so beautiful.  Remembering that gorgeous pot, I created a card that features two different colors of petunias; pink and purple.

Please take time to view all the details on the card!

Galatians 6:7

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. People reap what they sow.”

Heartfelt Creations Regal Hummingbird

Heartfelt Creations Regal Hummingbird

Hello, crafters!!  I so appreciate you stopping by Guneaux Designs!  Today I have for you a Happy Birthday card that features the Heartfelt Creations Regal Hummingbird stamp and die set.  The card also features the Heartfelt Creations Classic Petunia Designer Paper.   The Regal Hummingbird stamp and die set is available only until December 2, 2017, or as long as the supply lasts.  If interested, they are also on sale!!

It is difficult to see; however, the Happy Birthday To You sentiment is from a Spellbinders die that I cut several times (one from the designer paper) and glued them together.  Then I placed the glued pieces back into the negative of the designer paper.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

“Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Wintertime Scene Birthday Card

Hello, my friends!  I hope you are having a good day!  Thank you for stopping by to see my Wintertime Scene Birthday Card.  This card could be a Christmas card; however, I created it for my granddaughter who will have her 3-year old birthday next month.  She loves crafting with her Nana, using CottageCutz dies, the color pink, deer, etc.  Therefore, I kept that in mind when creating the card.  Before her birthday, I will add a Happy Birthday sentiment on the sign that is hanging from the post.

1 Peter 2:24

“He himself [Jesus] bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his woulds you have been healed.”

Shirt and Bow Tie Card

SHIRT AND BOW TIE CARD

Did you know that Monday was the National Bow Tie Day?  I did not know until it was brought to my attention by a Clean and Simple Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com.   The hostess challenged us to create cards with bows, and it was up to us to interpret the challenge.  Well, I created this Shirt and Bow Tie Card and submitted it to the challenge.

This card is a masculine card and could be given for Father’s Day, New Year’s Day, Birthdays, and many other occasions.  The card is quite simple to make. I simply used a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of white card stock, measured and marked at the 1″ mark down from the top of the paper, and cut toward the center on both ends, leaving about an inch uncut.

I folded the cut portions to form a collar for the shirt. I added the bow tie, buttons, and suspenders (i.e., ribbon) down both sides. I attached this to a Houndstooth embossed card base. How simple!!

Paper: Neenah Solar White, SU Basic Black, & Real Red CS
Accessories: ODBD Medium Bow Die, SU Houndstooth EF, SU Ribbon, SU Buttons, SU Red & White Twine, Adhesive

James 5:13-16

“Is any one of you in trouble?  He should pray.  Is anyone happy?  Let him sing songs of praise.  Is any one of you sick?  He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.  And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.  If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.”

Paper Layering Mermaid Card

PAPER LAYERING MERMAID CARD – GUNEAUX DESIGNS

Today I am sharing a Hero Arts Paper Layering Mermaid Card.  Isn’t she so gorgeous!!  I think so!!

On Splitcoaststampers.com, a member, Maura (beesmom), selected a wonderful combination of colors for last week’s color challenge!  Her colors are SU Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay, and Lemon Lime Twist, and her dessert is “birthdays”.

Although I think this combination of colors is so beautiful, I struggled with it initially. I made three cards working with the colors and was not happy with any except this one. Now that I have created a project with the colors, I am sure it will be one I use again.

I have no products in the SU Lemon Lime Twist color, so I had to improvise by using copics and closely related paper.  I used the Basic Gray and Bermuda Bay in card stock only.  For these two colors, I also used copics in addition to Hero Arts Distress Oxide Inks.

I created the mermaid with a Hero Arts Paper Layering Mermaid Die that I have had for 3 months but was not sure how to use it, quite frankly.  I had not used a “paper layering” die before.  I think I determined how to use it, but if I didn’t, that’s OK with me.

I colored the mermaid with copics and die cut her. I lifted the scales and the end of her tail and covered them with sparkles. I also lifted her arms and hair, where possible, and adhered the remaining portions of the die cut to the color-blended panel. I made the panel by sponging distress oxide inks, spritzing a stencil, and laying the wet stencil over the panel. I added seaweed and lots of sequins for bubbles.

My card is a birthday card, but I chose to use a “celebrate” sentiment.

Paper: Neenah White, SU Basic Gray, SU Bermuda Bay, PTI Simply Chartreuse
Ink: Distress Oxides and Copics
Accessories: Hero Arts (HA) Mermaid Dies, HA Seaweed Die, HA Stencil, CottageCutz Expressions Plus Die, Sequins, Crystal Sparkles, Be Creative Adhesive, Water, and Spritzer
Techniques: Sponging and Stenciling

Luke 14:12-14

Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends your brothers or relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid.  But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed.  Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
