Hello from the CottageCutz Lighthouse

HELLO FROM THE COTTAGECUTZ LIGHTHOUSE

Hello, friends, and welcome to Guneaux Designs!  Today I am a guest designer for the Scrapping Cottage Blog.  My “Hello form the CottageCutz Lighthouse” card share features the CottageCutz Hello Phrase die, which is a newly released word die from the CottageCutz Expressions Plus collection.

My card also features other CottageCutz dies: the CottageCutz Lighthouse die, Stitched Wide Circle Frame Set dies, CottageCutz Lighthouse w/ Clouds die, and CottageCutz Seagulls in Flight Die.

These are the steps I took to make this “Hello from the CottageCutz Lighthouse” card:

  • Using the CottageCutz Lighthouse die, I cut out the lighthouse in white, red, blue, green, gray, and yellow card stock and assembled the pieces.
  • I used the CottageCutz Stitched Wide Circle Frame Set dies to cut several circle frames and a circle from a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of white card stock.

  • I glued the circle frames together to create dimension.

  • Using the circle that was cut out from the 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of white card stock, I colored a sky, rock cliff, and ocean on it.  I added Liquid Applique in selected areas and heat set it.

  • I cut out three “hello” sentiments using the CottageCutz Hello Phrase die and blue card stock.  I glued them together, covered the sentiment with VersaMark Ink and Clear Embossing Powder, and heat set it.

  • I cut out seagulls from the CottageCutz Lighthouse w/ Clouds Die and CottageCutz Seagulls in Flight Die, and added a touch of color to them.  I rolled the wings with my fingers.

  • I began assembling my card by cutting a 4-1/2″ x 5-3/4″ piece of blue card stock to which I glued the 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of white card stock with the circle cut out.

  • To this piece, I attached both the circle frames and colored circle inside of the cut out circle.

  • Lastly, I added the lighthouse, seagulls, and hello sentiment to the above piece. Then I attached it to a 4-3/4″ x 6″ white card base.

I hope you enjoy the card and are inspired by it!

These are the CottageCutz dies used to create my Hello from the CottageCutz Lighthouse card.

John 14:23 & 24

Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching.  My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.  He who does not love me will not obey my teachings.  These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.”

Sweet Seasons

I have a card to share that features the old Stampin’ Up! Sweet Seasons Stamp Set that was released in 2004!  I’ve had this set for ten years and never used it until I was searching for a stamp to create a beach scene.  I had forgotten about the Sweet Seasons Stamp Set, and glad I stumbled upon it!

Sweet Seasons Stamp Set

The reason I was searching for a beach scene stamp was to participate in yesterday’s Splitcoaststampers Clean And Simple (CAS) Challenge to “Hit the Beach”, CAS385.  This challenge is hosted by Kathleen Curry, who wanted to “see a beachy card from everyone” who chose to participate in the challenge.

I chose the little girl image from the Sweet Seasons Stamp Set because it reminds me of my very precious granddaughter who loves the beach.  Needless to say who will receive this card!!

This photo provides a closeup of the image.  Because I live on the west coast of Florida and the sand on the beaches are more white, my sand in the image is Brick White (Copic Sketch Marker E40).

Sweet Seasons2

I designed the card with four layers of card stock, of which three are frames.  The white frame is smaller than the Rich Razzleberry (Stampin’ Up! card stock) frame, and the Wild Wasabi (Stampin’ Up! card stock) frame is larger than the Rich Razzleberry frame.  To create the frames, I used Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) Double Stitched Squares Dies.

I like the card, and I’m sure so will my granddaughter!

“I am the vine; you are the branches.  If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.  If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.”  John 15:5-6

Beach Scene

Today on Splitcoaststampers is a Color Challenge featuring Stampin’ Up! Colors of Soft Sky, Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi, and Crumb Cake.   I created a beach scene card for the challenge.  The scene features several dies from Impression Obsession, Marianne Design, Frantic Stamper Inc., Cottage Cutz, and Spellbinders.

If you want to play along with the Challenge, you can do so HERE!

7-10-16 UPDATE:  This card was included in the Splitcoaststampers Favorites of the Week ending 7-10-16!

7-12-16 UPDATE:  This card was selected as Splitcoaststampers FAVORITE for last week’s Color Challenge, CC590!!

To create the card, I used a 4-1/2″ square piece of Neenah Solar White Card Stock and sponged on the Crumb Cake sand, Marina Mist ocean, and Soft Sky sky.  Because I wanted to use a surfer, I wanted to make the ocean seem a little rough; therefore, I used Liquid Applique and spread it along the shore and into the water.

After cutting out all of the die cuts that I wanted to include on the card from the solar white paper (see list of supplies for the names of the dies), I used Copic Sketch Markers to color each one, and strategically place each cutout onto the scene.  After finishing that, I cut two Spellbinders Nestabilities Fairmont Labels dies, adhered them together with foam tape, and attached them around the scene.  I then added the flipflops and shells around the labels.  The scene was attached to a Wild Wasabi card base.

I really like how the card turned out!  I hope you enjoyed it, and will take time to provide me feedback!

CottageCutz Pelican on Siesta Key Beach

CottageCutz Pelican on Siesta Key Beach

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by to see my CottageCutz Pelican on Siesta Key Beach card.  I love CottageCutz beach-related dies.  This card features one such die, the CottageCutz Pelican Die.  I made this card in response to yesterday’s Free For All, F4A332, Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  The hostess of the challenge asked for beach-theme cards.   Her “dessert” (extra points) was to include red, white, and blue colors on cards.

Living in the west central part of Florida, I get to enjoy the beautiful white sand and turquoise water of the Siesta Key Beach. The beach is gorgeous, and my card is a reflection of it.

These photos are closeups of the card:

The wonderful comments made about this card can be seen HERE on Splitcoaststampers.

Matthew 22:37-39

(The Greatest Commandment)  “Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it:  Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Cottage Cutz Beach Scene

Hello, my friends!!  I’m trying to get back into creating after being sick for weeks and unable to craft.  I appreciate your patience in waiting for my return.  Today I have for you a Cottage Cutz Beach Scene card, created with several Cottage Cutz nautical dies.

Cottage Cutz Beach Scene

Nautical scenes are not my norm in card making; however, I have seen recently the Cottage Cutz nautical dies and thought they are so cute and perfect for beach scenes.  I couldn’t resist buying them!  These nautical dies are small ones but easy to work with. They are the main features on my card, which I made as a “Thank You” card for my son-in-law who loves the beach.

This photo is a closeup of the die cut from Cottage Cutz Paddles & Rope Ladder (Net) die. The net and fish are fun to use.  If you are thinking, “Orange fish??”, let me clear that up for you.  LOL  Grouper fish come in various colors and orange is one of them.

The following photo is a closeup of the two pelicans made with the Cottage Cutz Pelican Die.  I attached one of the fish die cuts from the Cottage Cutz Paddles & Rope Ladder (Net) Die to the pelican’s beak.  Have you ever seen a live pelican?  WOW, a pelican’s beak is HUGE!!!  Living in Florida near the beach is a blessing as I get to see these, and other, gorgeous birds.

Cottage Cutz Beach Scene4_1

The next photo is of the Cottage Cutz Rope Corner Die.  The rope and float are two die cuts that are glued together.  The die includes an anchor also that can be attached to the rope.  The cloud in the background, as well as the other two seen in the first photo, were made with the Cottage Cutz Lighthouse w/ Clouds Die.  I didn’t take time to provide dimension to them.

Cottage Cutz Beach Scene5_1

The frame around the scene was created with Our Daily Bread Designs Double Stitched Rectangles Dies.  I cut tree rectangles and glued them together for dimension.

Happy Birthday Easel Card – Brayer Beach Scene

Happy Birthday Easel Card, Brayer Beach Scene

Having spent the holidays on a Caribbean cruise with special friends, I decided to create a beach scene with the color of the Caribbean Sea for a Happy Birthday Easel Card.  Today is the birthday of one of the special friends, and I made this card for him.  I hope his day includes many blessings and plenty of cake and ice cream!

The beach scene was created by using a Brayer Art Tool and various Stampin’ Up! inks.  The Stampin’ Up! ink colors I used are:

The palm trees were made with a stamp image from Plant Hope.  The sentiment, Happy Birthday, is from the Bring on the Cake stamp set.  Enjoy!
