About Beverly

Hi! I am Beverly Polen, owner and designer for Guneaux Designs, a rubber stamping home-based business of direct sales of top-quality rubber stamping products. We create create beautiful artwork (e.g., greeting cards, scrapbook pages, 3-D paper crafts, and more) that features Stampin' Up! (SU) products . Making greeting cards for my family and friends is something I love and have done for years. Initially, I made cards using various software. Then in 2005, I was introduced to hand-made cards, using rubber stamps. I jumped in with both feet. In 2006 I was introduced to SU stamp sets. I was amazed that there were stamp sets with coordinating stamps. No more buying individual stamps, playing the mix and match game. I was so impressed by the quality of the SU products that allowed me to make beautiful and creative greeting cards. I have been hooked ever since and my creativity continues to blossom.

Lawn Fawn Christmas Dreams & Shut the Front Door

Lawn Fawn Christmas Dreams & Shut the Front Door

Hello, and thanks for stopping by.  Last Saturday, Splitcoaststampers provided a wonderful site for its Inspiration Challenge.  I saw the following Christmas card on the site and it inspired me to create a shadow box card.

Here is a photo of the shadow box card that I made.  I did not have a nutcracker stamp, so there are none sitting at the front entrance.  The lights are turned off inside; therefore,  it may be difficult to see inside.  However, do not be concerned as I have other photos that show the inside.

Luke 22:47-51

(Jesus being arrested)  “While he [Jesus] was still speaking a crowd came up, and the man who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them.  He approached Jesus to kiss him, but Jesus asked him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?” When Jesus’ followers saw what was going to happen, they said, “Lord, should we strike with our swords?”  And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear.  But Jesus answered, “No more of this!”  And he touched the man’s ear and healed him.”

Penny Black Snowy Hamlet

Penny Black Snowy Hamlet

Welcome back, my special friends!  Today I have a card for you that features the Penny Black Snowy Hamlet stamp.  I created this card to respond to an inspiration challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  This is the site the hostess chose for us to draw inspiration from.  The following photos are of my card and inspiration piece.

Luke 22:42&43

When Jesus went to the garden at the Mount of Olives to pray before being arrested, he prayed in anguish and said:

“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”  An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.  And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.”

Did you know that God has assigned each believer an angel who will come to strengthen us when we are feeling weak?  Just pray and ask God to send an angel to strengthen you.

Art Impressions Snow Friend

Art Impressions Snow Friend

Hello, my crafty friends!  My card share is in response to a Splitcoaststampers Free For All Challenge to create a border by masking the edges on a card.  I used the Art Impressions Snow Friend stamp set for my card.  I masked the main panel on this card with masking tape and colored around the edges with a B000 Copic marker to create a border.

Zephaniah 3:17

“The LORD your God is with you,  he is mighty to save.  He will take great delight in you, he will quite you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”

Julee Tilman’s MOJO Monday Challenge 502

Hi, friends!  I am excited that the MOJO Monday Challenges have re-launched recently.  Julee Tilman’s MOJO Monday Challenge 502 is a great sketch and I used it to create the following card.

This is a copy of Julee’s great sketch:

2 Corinthians 12:7-9

Regarding Paul’s thorn, he said, “To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.  Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.  But he said to me, “my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

How to Assemble Art Impressions Santa Flutter Set

How to Assemble Art Impressions Santa Flutter Set

Have you purchased any of the new Art Impressions Flutter Stamp and Die sets?  They can be difficult to assemble.  I think that the Art Impressions Santa Flutter Set recently released is more difficult than the ones I used from the Art Impressions spring 2018 release.  I struggled with the Santa Flutter and decided to provide a tutorial on how to assemble the Art Impressions Santa Flutter Set.

I submitted this card today for a color challenge on Splitcoaststampers.

Matthew 7:1-5

Jesus said, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.  For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.  Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?  How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?  You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”

Ellen Hutson Courage – Breast Cancer Awareness

ELLEN HUTSON COURAGE – BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

I could not let October end without creating a Breast Cancer Awareness card.  For the card, I used the Ellen Hutson Courage Stamp and Die set, which was made especially to benefit breast cancer research.  Twenty-five dollars of each purchase of the stamp set will be sent to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  Being a breast cancer survivor, I was happy to contribute to the Foundation through my purchase.  Here is my card.

1 Corinthians 12:4-9

“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.  There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.  There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.  Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.  To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit…”
