Heartfelt Creations Botanic Window Christmas Ornament

HEARTFELT CREATIONS BOTANIC WINDOW CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT

Welcome, my friends!  I have been absent for many days as a result of Hurricane Irma. I live in Florida, and my area was hit by the storm.  I lost power for several days and had no way to post.  My power has returned, and I wanted to share a Heartfelt Creations Botanic Window Christmas Ornament that I made at the end of August.

Whimsy Penguin Loves Watermelon

Welcome!  Thanks for stopping by Guneaux Designs to see my latest project, the Whimsy Penguin Loves Watermelon card.

Isn’t he just adorable!!  I created the card in response to a sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com.  The sketch is unique, and I took the liberty to modify it slightly. When creating, I used the sketch upside down, and I did not trim the side of the image circle (panel 4 of the sketch).

Shirt and Bow Tie Card

SHIRT AND BOW TIE CARD

Did you know that Monday was the National Bow Tie Day?  I did not know until it was brought to my attention by a Clean and Simple Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com.   The hostess challenged us to create cards with bows, and it was up to us to interpret the challenge.  Well, I created this Shirt and Bow Tie Card and submitted it to the challenge.

This card is a masculine card and could be given for Father’s Day, New Year’s Day, Birthdays, and many other occasions.  The card is quite simple to make. I simply used a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of white card stock, measured and marked at the 1″ mark down from the top of the paper, and cut toward the center on both ends, leaving about an inch uncut.

I folded the cut portions to form a collar for the shirt. I added the bow tie, buttons, and suspenders (i.e., ribbon) down both sides. I attached this to a Houndstooth embossed card base. How simple!!

Paper: Neenah Solar White, SU Basic Black, & Real Red CS
Accessories: ODBD Medium Bow Die, SU Houndstooth EF, SU Ribbon, SU Buttons, SU Red & White Twine, Adhesive

James 5:13-16

“Is any one of you in trouble?  He should pray.  Is anyone happy?  Let him sing songs of praise.  Is any one of you sick?  He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.  And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.  If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.”

Paper Layering Mermaid Card

PAPER LAYERING MERMAID CARD – GUNEAUX DESIGNS

Today I am sharing a Hero Arts Paper Layering Mermaid Card.  Isn’t she so gorgeous!!  I think so!!

On Splitcoaststampers.com, a member, Maura (beesmom), selected a wonderful combination of colors for last week’s color challenge!  Her colors are SU Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay, and Lemon Lime Twist, and her dessert is “birthdays”.

Although I think this combination of colors is so beautiful, I struggled with it initially. I made three cards working with the colors and was not happy with any except this one. Now that I have created a project with the colors, I am sure it will be one I use again.

I have no products in the SU Lemon Lime Twist color, so I had to improvise by using copics and closely related paper.  I used the Basic Gray and Bermuda Bay in card stock only.  For these two colors, I also used copics in addition to Hero Arts Distress Oxide Inks.

I created the mermaid with a Hero Arts Paper Layering Mermaid Die that I have had for 3 months but was not sure how to use it, quite frankly.  I had not used a “paper layering” die before.  I think I determined how to use it, but if I didn’t, that’s OK with me.

I colored the mermaid with copics and die cut her. I lifted the scales and the end of her tail and covered them with sparkles. I also lifted her arms and hair, where possible, and adhered the remaining portions of the die cut to the color-blended panel. I made the panel by sponging distress oxide inks, spritzing a stencil, and laying the wet stencil over the panel. I added seaweed and lots of sequins for bubbles.

My card is a birthday card, but I chose to use a “celebrate” sentiment.

Paper: Neenah White, SU Basic Gray, SU Bermuda Bay, PTI Simply Chartreuse
Ink: Distress Oxides and Copics
Accessories: Hero Arts (HA) Mermaid Dies, HA Seaweed Die, HA Stencil, CottageCutz Expressions Plus Die, Sequins, Crystal Sparkles, Be Creative Adhesive, Water, and Spritzer
Techniques: Sponging and Stenciling

Luke 14:12-14

Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends your brothers or relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid.  But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed.  Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

Pretty Posies

Hello, crafters!  Thanks for stopping by Guneaux Designs to enjoy my Pretty Posies card.

I created this card in honor of a “Featured Stamper” on Splitcoaststampers.com, Diane (HappyinMarco).  Diane has a gorgeous and unique gallery, and it was difficult to choose one card to case.  However, as soon as I saw this beauty, I knew it was the one.

I love the blue colors, butterflies, and leaves on Diane’s card, and I added those elements to my card, but in a different manner.  My main panel is blueish-green and I created it by sponging and blending several Distress Oxide Inks.  Instead of die cut stems and leaves as are on Diane’s card, I embossed my main panel with a stems and leaves embossing folder.  I added two butterflies as she did.  However, mine are from a different die cut, assorted colors, and located differently on the card.  I added a paper flower to my card that I created with ODBD Pretty Posies Die Set.

Paper: Neenah Soler White, PTI Lemon Tart, PTI Hawaiian Shores, and PTI Simply Chartreuse
Ink: Distress Oxide Inks
Accessories: ODBD Pretty Posies Dies, SU Butterfly Dies, CottageCutz Expressions Plus Hello, Sequins, AG Embossing Folder, Sequins, and Prills
Techniques: Sponging and Blending

Luke 14:1 – 3

One Sabbath, when Jesus went to eat in the house of a prominent Pharisee, he was being carefully watched.  There in front of him was a man suffering from dropsy.  Jesus asked the Pharisees and experts in the law, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?”  But they remained silent.  So taking hold of the man, he healed him and sent him away.”
