Spellbinders Decorative Holly Frame and 5×7 Holly Frame

This is my first Christmas card for 2015, and it features the Spellbinders Decorative Holly Frame die set as well as the Spellbinders 5″x7″ Holly Frame die set.  Yes, the names of the dies seem one in the same.  However, they are two separate die sets, as you can see near the bottom of this post.  I think the card is very attractive. What do you think?

Spellbinders Decorative Holly Frame and 5X7 Holly Frame

The size of the Christmas card is 6″ x 6″ as the frame from the Spellbinders Decorative Holly Frame die set is too large to fit on a smaller sized card.

I think the Stampin’ Up! Soft Sky card stock is beautiful and the perfect color for this card. The splashes of red on the card make it pop!  Do you agree?  I used Stampin’ Up! Whisper White Card Stock for the Spellbinders Decorative Holly Frame cutout, and embossed it in several places with Stampin’ Up! Soft Sky ink. Notice the raised elements on the card in the following picture.  To get some dimension on the card, I recut the die and created duplicate bells at the top and the ribbon at the bottom of the card.

Spellbinders Decorative Holly Frame and 5x7 Holly Frame

Maybe you can see the raised elements better in the picture below.

Spellbinders Decorative Holly Frame and 5x7 Holly Frams

I made the Soft Sky poinsettia with Spellbinders Shapeabilities Layered Poinsettia dies. I used the Spellbinders 5×7 Holly Frame die set to create the small red poinsettia at the bottom-right of the card.  I also used this die set to create the holly vine that rests on top of the sentiment.  In an attempt to create a shadow of the holly vine, I recut the holly vine using the Stampin’ Up! Sahara Sand Card Stock.  I glued it underneath the Soft Sky holly vine, allowing 1/16″ of the Sahara Sand holly vine to show.  The sentiment on the card front is from a retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set, Come to Bethlehem.

The inside of the card is embellished with another Soft Sky holly vine that I attached to the Whisper White Card Stock.  The inside sentiment comes from the Stampin’ Up! Reason for the Season (139730) stamp set.

Breast Cancer Awareness-Guneaux Designs Sliced Rock Technique

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I decided to create a card that features Guneaux Designs Sliced Rock Technique.  I think the card is quite cheerful, which is what a breast cancer patient would need in the way of a card.  When I was recovering from breast cancer, I thoroughly enjoyed receiving cheerful cards.  They lifted my spirits.

Brest-Cancer-Awareness-Guneaux-Designs-Sliced-Rock-Technique

Using my Guneaux Designs Sliced Rock Technique, I started making the card by stamping a floral image on a small piece of Stampin’ Up! Whisper White card stock. The floral image is from the Stampin’ Up! Flower Shop stamp set.  Using various shades of pink, I colored the flower and began implementing the Guneaux Designs Sliced Rock Technique.  You can see that I started creating the “rings” around the flower with two shades of pink and ended with shades of yellow and green.

Brest-Cancer-Awareness-Guneaux-Designs-Sliced-Rock-Technique

I stopped with the technique when I reached five rings around the flower.  I did this so I would have room for my heart design around the sliced rock floral design and to be able to stamp the Ribbon of Hope stamp around the flower.  I used Versamark Ink and White Embossing Powder for the ribbon.

To form the heart around the floral design, I placed a heart-shaped Post-It note over the flower.  Afterwards, I used a brayer to apply Pink Pirouette Classic Ink across the Whisper White card stock. Then I formed the shape of the heart with Ranger Yellow Stickles.  I think the yellow stickle helps the floral design to pop on the card.

For the sentiment on the Breast Cancer Awareness card, I used the HOPE stamp from the retired Stampin’ Up! Strength & Hope stamp set.

Stampin Up Happy Scenes-Bohemian DSP

Hello Stampers and Friends!  Today I have a card for you that I made with the Stampin Up Happy Scenes stamp set and Bohemian Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I used two stamps from the Stampin Up Happy Scenes photopolymer stamp set and a brayer to create this “happy scene”!  I initially planned to use the Stampin Up Hearth and Home Thinlits Dies that come with the Happy Scenes Photopolymer Bundle (140853). Unfortunately, the thinlits dies are on back order and did not arrive with my order (sad face)!  Regardless, I improvised.

Stampin Up Happy Scenes-Bohemian DSP

I improvised by using the Spellbinders Leafy Squares Nestabilities Decorative Elements, which are small squares.  The 3″ x 3″ scene that I designed fits perfectly inside the largest Leafy Square cutout.   The Leafy Squares dies cut out tiny leaves when they are run through the Big Shot. You can see the cute little leaves lying on the envelope in the above picture, however, the following picture shows them better.

The stamps within the Stampin Up Happy Scenes stamp set are small and are intended to create a small “scene”.  You can get a good sense for the size of the stamps in the following picture:
Stampin Up Happy Scenes Stamp Set

As you can see in the following closeup of the scene, I used the pine trees and fall tree stamps from the Stampin Up Happy Scenes stamp set.

Stampin Up Happy Scenes-Bohemian DSP4

I did not want to waste the tiny leaf cutouts so I included them beneath the trees on the front and inside of my card.

Thinking of You Greeting Card – Spellbinders Tranquil Moments

Hello stampers!  Yes, it has been a long time (i.e., two years) since I posted any of my artwork.  Life’s events can get in our way sometimes and we have to adapt and decide on our priorities.  Posting on my site had fallen to the bottom of my priority list.  Now that time allows, I want to share with you a Thinking of You greeting card that I made recently for someone very special.

The card features the retired Stampin’ Up! Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper and Spellbinders A2 Tranquil Moments Die Set (S5-216), or Card Creator dies. The Spellbinders dies cut so perfectly and are so intricate.  They do the job for which they were intended…Card Creator!

Thinking of You Greeting Card & Spellbinders Tranquil_MomentsI used three retired Stampin’ Up! punches to build the center flower that is attached with a retired Stampin’ Up! brad.  Beside the flower are two Stampin’ Up! Basic Pearls.  The Tranquil Moments frame is made with  Stampin’ Up! Island Indigo Card Stock (122923).

Thinking of You Greeting Card Spellbinders Tranquil MomentsI think this card is beautiful and I created it without using any rubber stamps!  Below is somewhat of a side view of the Thinking of You Greeting Card that provides a peek into the inside of the card.  I can’t give you a better peek or you could see my private message! LOL

Loving Thoughts – Stamping With Guneaux Designs

Loving ThoughtsAn easy card for a Monday sounds good; don’t you agree?  This “Wonderful You” card featuring the Loving Thoughts Stamp Set fits the “easy” requirement!

Just slap some Stampin’ Up! Washi Tape on a card front, punch a pansy flower, and add it to the top left corner. Loving Thoughts

Are you thinking, “Why a spring-type card for this time of the year”?  Yes, it does seem like a spring-type card.  However, one of the beauties of living in South-Central Florida is flowers are still blooming!  Most stamping artists are posting fall- and winter-related cards, but I still have flowers blooming in my gardens.  Yes, I’ll post fall/winter cards soon, but not today.

I made this card for my wonderful daughter.  She is so good to me and I wanted her to know how wonderful she is.  She is always bringing me gifts of gratitude, buying me groceries without me asking, and showing her deep love for me in other ways.  Every mother should have a daughter like her!  I am so blessed!
