GUNEAUX DESIGNS ODBD SEEDS OF TODAY

Happy Friday, everyone!!  Before I retired I really looked forward to Fridays.  When I got home from a stressful week at work, all I wanted to do over the weekend was rest. Speaking of Fridays, this Friday I have for you a Guneaux Designs ODBD Seeds of Today Greeting Card.  I created this card in response to a Splitcoaststampers Ways To Use It Challenge, WT617, to create with something OLD, NEW, BORROWED, and BLUE.  The New Year is precipitating challenges involving something new and I love that idea.

ODBD Seeds of Tomorrow

To satisfy the borrowed element of the challenge, I cased a Valentine card I made in 2012.

ODBD Seeds of Tomorrow

To make this card I did the following:

  • Using my old 2009 Big Shot, retired and old Stampin’ Up! (SU) Hearts Collection Dies, and a folded piece of Daffodil Delight card stock, I cut out my heart shaped card base.  The dies were issued as a new product in the SU Occasions Mini Catalog dated January 4 – April 30, 2012.  That makes them old to me!  LOL
  • Using the new Hero Arts Infinity Nesting Heart Dies, I cut two smaller hearts from Neenah Solar White Card Stock.  I adhered one to the inside of the card, using the Be Creative Doubled-Sided Adhesive.
  • I used the second white heart to stamp, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, a floral image from the new January 2017 ODBD release, the ODBD Seeds of Today Stamp Set. I used Copic Sketch Markers in shades of purple and yellow to color the image.
  • Using the new Hero Arts Hearts Dies, new ODBD Plum Pizzazz Paper Pad (designer paper), and new (to me)  CottageCutz I Love You Die, I cut two miniature hearts and added my I Love You sentiment.  To satisfy the requirement to use something blue, I added a miniature, really miniature, blue heart at the bottom of the yellow heart die cut.
  • I added double-sided-foam tape to the main panel with the stamped image and adhered that to the Daffodil Delight card base.
  •
  • I finished the card by adding the smaller hearts and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins.

Have a wondODBD Seeds of Tomorrowerful weekend!!

The Glory Returns to the Temple:  “Then the man brought me to the gate facing east, and I saw the glory of God of Israel coming from the east.  His voice was like the roar of rushing waters, and the land was radiant with his glory.  The vision I saw was like the vision I had seen when he came to destroy the city and like the visions I had seen by the Kebar River, and I fell face down.  The glory of the Lord entered the temple through the gate facing east.  Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.”  Ezekiel 43:1-5   (Ezekiel was a Jewish Priest/Prophet who spoke these words.)

GUNEAUX DESIGNS BLOOMING GARDEN GREETING CARD

Hello and welcome to Guneaux Designs!  I hope your New Year has started off with love, kindness, and everything good!  Today, my friends, my card share, Guneaux Designs Blooming Garden Greeting Card, features the Penny Black Blooming Garden Stamp Set.  This stamp set is new to me, and I expect it will be used frequently.

I am not sure of the type of flower the image is, but I think it is beautiful.  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Neenah Solar White Card Stock that I cut using Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) Pierced Rectangles Dies.  Using various Copic Sketch Markers, I colored the floral image in shades of light and dark pink and green.  I used a Dapper Denim Stampin’ Up! (SU) Marker to draw a frame for the floral image. The sentiment, from ODBD Faith Card Sentiments, is stamped in the SU Dapper Denim color.  This photo provides a closeup of the flowers.
After I finished with the sentiment and floral image, I attached the piece to a die cut piece of SU Dapper Denim Card Stock that I cut using the ODBD Lavish Layers Dies.  I used the Be Creative Sookwang Double-Sided Tape to adhere this piece of card stock. Have you ever used this double-sided tape?  It is the strongest double-sided tape that I have come across, and it comes in several widths.  If you have not used it, give it a try; I think you will be impressed!

I am submitting this card to the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge for this week. The color combination for the challenge is Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz, and Dapper Denim. I think the combination is a great one!  If you have not entered the Splitcoaststampers Challenges, I encourage you to give it a try.  It is lots of fun!

Have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by!

Shining as Stars:  “Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life – in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing.”  Philippians 2:14-16

Happy New Year 2017

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2017, everyone!!

I hope your New Year’s Eve will be a healthy and safe one!!  My card share for you this evening is a Happy New Year 2017 card that features Hero Arts’ “My Monthly Hero December 2016” Kit.

The photo to the left is of a die from the Hero Arts’ My Monthly Hero December 2016″ Kit.  It is the main tool that I used for the card.  In this post I’ll call it an explosion die.  I used the explosion die to create the “explosion” on the center of the card, and here is how I accomplished this.

  1.  I placed the die near the top of the card stock as shown in the photo to the left.
  2. After running the card stock and die through my die cutting machine, the die cut looked like the following.

3. Then I laid the die upside down onto the card stock, ensuring I aligned the bottom cut of the die with the bottom cut of the first cut out (see left photo).  I ran that through my die cutting machine to achieve the following results.  The red lines in the following photo shows where I cut with the die the second time.

The champagne bottle, stars, and “cheers” sentiment are also from the Hero Arts’ kit.  As is obvious, I used black card stock to create the “explosion” and adhered that to gold card stock that is also from the kit.  I lifted each spike on the explosion so the gold would show through, and attached either a star or rhinestone.

I hope your New Year 2017 is a blessed one!

Jesus said to the disciples:  “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching.  My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.  He who does not love me will not obey my teaching.  These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.”  John 14:23 & 24

Outlines Rubber Stamp Holly Background

Before the New Year arrives, I wanted to share with you one more Christmas card that features the Outlines Rubber Stamp Holly Background.  This stamp is from the Outlines Rubber Stamps Company that went out of business a few years ago.  I love the company’s stamps, and was disappointed about it closing.  I am grateful that I got several of the company’s stamps before it closed.

I made this card for a Clean and Simply Challenge, CAS398, on Splitcoaststampers. The hostess of the challenge asked for a one layer card made with one stamp and one sentiment, and my card is just that.  Additionally, I used a score board to add score lines on all sides of the card.  I love how the card turned out, and so did several others.  The card was a favorite card of several Splitcoaststampers artists.

I used several Copic Sketch Markers to color the holly and berries, adding glossy accents onto the berries.  I added red dots around the card using Nuvo Crystal Drops.  I used a blue Copic Sketch Marker to color around the image, and stamped the sentiment using Stampin’ Up! (SU) Real Red Ink.  The sentiment is from an old SU stamp set, Jolly Old Saint Nick.

Show some love by leaving comments.  I love reading them!

Guneaux Designs Fairy Greeting Card

Welcome!  I hope you had a wonderful week of Christmas!  My week was exhausting, and I am glad it is behind me!!  I have a cute card share for you, Guneaux Designs Fairy Greeting Card.  It’s a Happy Birthday greeting card, and the fairy image is a digital one!

This card was made for a card drive for the Bright Star Center in Florida that provides grief counseling for young children.  The Bright Star Center assists children ages 3-18 through the grieving process.  Because children grieve differently than adults, at Bright Star they are encouraged to express grief both verbally and through positive play.  Art, children’s yoga, grief groups, and a one-day camp are just a few activities offered. Because of the Center’s name, the request was to create birthday cards that include stars.  The cards requested were for children from 2 years of age to young adults. This card drive was such a worthy cause, and I enjoyed creating the card.

What is Christmas About

WHAT IS CHRISTMAS ABOUT?  THE BIRTH OF JESUS!

Luke 2:1-16 NIV

“In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.  (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.)  And everyone went to his own town to register.

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.  He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son.  She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.  An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.  But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid.  I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you: he is Christ the Lord.  This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manager.”

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God, and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.”  When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”  So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.”

If you have watched, “A Charlie Brown Christmas”, you have seen Linus tell Charlie Brown what Christmas is all about by reciting parts of Luke 2.  But did you ever notice that Linus drops his blanket at a “strategic” part of his recitation?  This was Charles Schultz’s way of emphasizing God’s love and protection.  Watch the video and notice when Linus lets go of his earthly security and trusts in the Lord.

Let us all trust in the love of God — for He gave us His Son.  So fear not, He sends us good tidings of great joy!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE, AND GOD BLESS YOU!
