Hero Arts Monthly Kit Star Stamp
Happy Saturday!! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving if you live in the United States! Thanksgiving is a lovely time of the year to stop regular activities and give thanks for our blessings. I had a wonderful time with my family that I love so much!
I took time today to create a card for an Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoaststampers. Every Saturday the hostess for the challenge selects a website from which to draw inspiration and create a paper project. The site selected for today is The Company Store. I selected THIS beautiful Star Wreath Holder as my inspiration piece. Because of the upcoming holiday, Christmas, I immediately thought of the Star of Bethlehem when I saw this item. My next thought was the star stamp within the Hero Arts Monthly Kit for November 2017. Therefore, that star stamp image is the focal point of my card.
Matthew 2:1 & 2
“After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.”
To create the card, I:
- Colored a piece of white card stock with the Copic B69 sketch marker,
- Stamped the star image onto the colored piece of card stock with VersaMark Ink,
- Covered the image with silver embossing powder and heat set,
- Stamped an image from Stampin’ Up’s retired stamp set, Pines & Poinsettias, around the star with VersaMark ink,
- Covered the images with silver embossing powder and heat set,
- Cut out the image with a die from CottageCutz Double-Stitched Circle Set and set it aside,
- Cut another piece of white card stock and colored it with the same copic marker,
- Added double-sided tape to the front of this piece and set it aside,
- Used the Hero Arts Star Confetti Fancy Die to die cut another piece of white card stock,
- Attached this piece to the front of the colored piece of card stock, covered both pieces with Stampin’ Up! Dazzling Diamonds glitter and set it aside,
- Stamped the sentiment and die cut it with a CottageCutz Double-Stitched Rectangle die,
- Colored a small piece of white card stock with the same B69 Copic marker and attached it as a mat for the sentiment and added some Dazzling Diamonds around the edge,
- Cut another piece of white card stock and colored it around the edges with the B69 copic marker,
- Covered this piece with double-sided tape,
- Attached the star covered panel to that piece and added Dazzling Diamonds around the edges
- Attached the adhered panels to a white card base, and
- Added the star to the top of the card, a ribbon near the bottom, and the sentiment and its mat.
As you can see in the below photo, I stamped the same star on the inside of the card.
