Hero Arts My Monthly Kit for November 2017

Hero Arts My Monthly Kit for November 2017

Hero Arts monthly kit for November contains a lot a fantastic crafting products.  A photo  of the kit’s contents is below the photo of my card and scripture of my post.  Unfortunately, the kit sold out as fast as it was posted as being available.  But that is the norm for these kits.

I used the bulb stamp from the kit as the main feature for my card.  I stamped and decorated three of them for the card.

Matthew 22:37-40  (The Greatest Commandment)

“Jesus replied:  ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it:  Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

After stamping the bulbs, I used the related die to cut them out.  I embossed the top portion of each one with a Stampendous! Jeweled Gold embossing powder.  The powder is so pretty as it has a lot of glitter in it.  I used another die from the kit to cut out an oval in the center of the green bulb.  Using the “Joy” sentiment stamp from the kit, I stamped the image with VersaMark ink onto a piece of heat-resistant acetate, covered it with the same embossing powder and heat set it.  I attached this to the back of the bulb with liquid glue and then added double-sided foam tape to the back of the acetate.  I placed sequins into the bulb and covered the back with a white bulb die cut from the kit, thereby, creating a shaker bulb.

To create the front panel of the card, I used an Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD)  Stitched Rectangle Die to cut a piece of white card stock.  After cutting that out, I placed it back into my die-cutting machine with a smaller frame die from the same ODBD Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut a frame.  I placed the die, card stock, and cutting plate in the die-cutting machine in a manner that would partially cut the frame and cut it an an angle.  I cut the top section out of the fame and fussy cut a snow bank on the bottom.  I covered that with Liquid Applique, let it dry, and heat set it to create snow.  I then added glue over this and covered the snow bank with Heartfelt Creations’ Papericious Crystal Clear glitter.

To create the border on the card base, I used the Delicata Golden Glitz Pigment Ink from the kit to repeatedly stamp a string of lights, also from the kit.

The oval that I cut from the green bulk was added to the inside of the card.  I submitted this card for a color challenge on Splitcoaststamper.com.  The color combination for the challenge is Stampin’ Up! Berry Burst, Tranquil Tide, Crumb Cake, and Gold.

I hope you enjoy the card and will leave a comment to share your thoughts about it.
