Hero Arts Textured Leaves
Hello, special friends! I hope that anyone impacted by Hurricane Michael has survived the horrific storm. I was impacted with high winds and bands of drenching rain. Thank God, my friends and family are OK. Those who were significantly impacted are in my prayers.
I am sharing with you a card I made for two of this week’s challenges on Splitcoaststampers. One is the Color Challenge and the other the Free For All Challenge. The Color Challenge is to use the color combination of Stampin’ Up!’s Real Red, Garden Green, and So Saffron with “dessert” to use a stencil on a project. The Free For All Challenge was simply to use a stencil on a project. This is the card I created, and it features Hero Arts Textured Leaves stamps and matching dies.
1 Thessalonians 5:26-18
“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
To make the card, I first die cut three leaves from white cardstock, colored them, and attached them strategically to PTI yellow cardstock. Then I die cut the same three leaves from the same PTI yellow cardstock and discarded the leaves. I used the Hero Arts “The Woods” stencil and sponged a light gray ink over this panel. I used the same stencil to add Glass Bead Glitter Gel onto the panel. After the gel dried, I used this negative panel to attach over the colored leaves, raising the panel with foam tape. I used gray ink in hopes it would make the gel show up more, and now I regret it as I don’t like it as I thought I would.
There are mistakes on this card; however, this has been a bad week for me and getting the card made took energy from me. Unfortunately, I had a death in my family (i.e. lost a little baby) and was also dealing with the hurricane. Regardless, I got the card made.
I GREATLY APPRECIATE YOU STOPPING BY AND LEAVING A COMMENT. I WILL RETURN YOUR KINDNESS!
COMMENTS WILL BE VISIBLE UPON APPROVAL.

Beautiful card Bev, Love your techniques and the layout
My heart and prayers are with your family during this difficult time of sorrow, Bev. May the love of family and friends surround and comfort these dear parents as they struggle through this unimaginable loss.
What I love about this is how unique and creative it is! The design is so eye appealing and love your background work. Popping up the top panel looks fabulous, Bev. What a beautiful card and wonderful sentiment to go with it!
I’m SO SORRY to hear of your loss, Bev! SO SORRY! It would be hard to create after loosing a little one! (Babies have been on my mind so much here lately. I’ve been working away at Knitting for three of them!) I think your card came out WONDERFULLY! I know you said you don’t like it as much as you thought you would, but I like the stencil you used & the glittery Gel!!! And your touches of color for the leaves are BEAUTIFUL with this, along with the corners! Really a STUNNING CARD!!!! Thank you for your visit! 😉 Again, I am SO SORRY to hear of your loss dear friend! I’m praying for you!
