SERENE SILHOUETTES

Hello, and welcome back, or welcome if this is your first time to this site.  Do you remember the old Stampin’ Up! stamp set, Serene Silhouettes?  I call the stamp set “old” because it is more than five years old.  I created my Serene Silhouettes card for a Splitcoaststampers Clean and Simple Challenge (CAS) to create a project that includes birds.  Because the card needed to be CAS, I searched for a simple image of a bird or birds, and this set is the one I found in my stash of older stamps.

Ephesians 2:1-3

“As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this wold and the ruler of the kingdom of the air [Satan], the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.  All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts.  Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.”

I stamped the birds silhouette image from the SU Serene Silhouettes stamp set onto white card stock using red and black markers.  I cut out the image with the second to the largest frame from the Hero Arts Nested Frame Dies.  Subsequently, I folded an A2 white card base and used the largest die from the same die set to die cut a frame from the card front near the right.

I used a birds and vines Cuttlebug Embossing Folder on the card front and attached a shiny black ribbon down the left side.

The black, red, and white image frame and mat were attached, through the die cut on the card front (i.e., window), to the inside of the card.  When the card is open, you see the birds and branches image and mat.  When it’s closed, you see the same thing. LOL

The sentiment, from the Hero Arts Better Together stamp set, was covered with red ink, stamped on white CS, die cut, and adhered to the black die cut mat.  I cut a tiny heart from SU Red Glimmer Paper and added it to the sentiment, which completed the card.

Thank you for stopping by and a special thanks for leaving a message!!
