Hero Arts Color Layering Poinsettia Christmas Card

Hero Arts Color Layering Poinsettia Christmas Card

Happy Christmas Eve, my friends!  Do you have your gifts wrapped and goodies baked to be ready for tomorrow!  I commend you if you are ready as I have not wrapped the first gift.  Guess what I will do today!  But before I begin wrapping gifts, I wanted to share my last Christmas card for this year.  The card features Hero Arts Color Layering Poinsettia stamp set bundle.

Matthew 1:18-25  – The Birth of Jesus Christ

18: “This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about:  His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
19:  Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
20:  But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
21:  She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
22.  All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
23.  “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” — which means, “God with us.”
24.  When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.
25.  But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son.  And he gave him the name Jesus.”

I created the card by stamping in layers the poinsettia from the stamp set bundle.  I used the ink colors that came with the bundle – Pale Tomato, Strawberry, and Raspberry Jam.  Next, I stamped the leaves with the Moss ink that also was included with the bundle.  The second layer for the leaves was stamped with VersaMark Ink and covered with Hero Arts Green/Gold Embossing Powder and heat set.  The stamp set is designed so masking is not required to stamp on the leaves.

The Hero Arts Green/Gold embossing powder is great.  It came in the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit for November 2018.  I also applied it at the very top of the card above the gold washi tape as is seen in the below photo.

As you also can see in the above photo, I added greenery that I created using the Hero Arts Greenery Edge Fancy Die (see supplies for the link).  I colored the cutout with green and red Copic Markers, added Glossy Accents to the berries, and attached sequins.

To finish the card, I added spots of gold with a Sukura Stardust Glitter Pen, added more sequins, and embossed the Merry Christmas sentiment.  The photo below shows better the spots of gold.

I wish each of you a wonderful evening and a Merry Christmas tomorrow!
