4th of July Hand Fan
One of the interpretations of the Dirty Dozen’s June Theme, Keeping Score, was to use score lines on a project. This 4th of July Hand Fan has many score lines. It is sturdy enough to use in hot weather while outside enjoying a concert and/or watching fireworks on the Independence Day. This photo is of the fan when open.
1 Timothy 2:5 & 6
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men — the testimony given in its proper time.
The fan has a closure made of ribbon and a star brad. This is a photo of the closed fan.
To make the fan, I cut a 4-1/2″ x 12″ piece of SU Real Red, Neenah Solar White, and SU Not Quite Navy cardstock. I scored each piece every 1/2″ and folded them accordion style. I used a silver Sharpie pen to run across the top edge of each piece. Using a strong adhesive, I attached the red cardstock to the white and the white to the blue.
Then I cut a 1-1/2″ x 12″ piece of red cardstock, scored it at the 1/2″ mark on both sides, folded the cardstock, attached a ribbon and star brad, and glued it together. Then I glued it to the fan as a band and closure that wraps around the three pieces. I added a LOT of glue on the bottom center of the fan for stability.
Using star dies, I cut three stars from blue, red, and white cardstock and glued them to the front of the fan. Hope you enjoy the 4th of July Hand Fan!
