Gate Fold Card In The Shape Of A Star

Gate Fold Card In The Shape Of A Star

This Wednesday is Independence Day, July 4th, and I love cards made to celebrate the occasion.  This card is a gate fold card in the shape of a star.  I made the card for the Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen’s June Theme, “Keeping Score”, and it fits the theme in two ways.  One is the special card fold, and the other is the 20 strips on the card front in blue.

Revelations 3:20-22

“Here I am!  I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.  To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

I created this card in the same manner as this gate fold card. This one is in the shape of the largest of the SU Stars Framelits Dies.  After die cutting the gate fold star from white cardstock, I used a “fireworks” die from Hero Arts (i.e., MMK Dec 2016) to cut 20 strips from the front of the card base, which also fits the monthly theme (i.e., score = 20).

To decorate the card, I mixed some Glass Bead Glitter Gel with drops of SU Brilliant Blue ink and covered the front and back of each strip.  Then I cut another star from SU Red Glimmer paper, cut it in half, and adhered it to the back of the front of the card.  I used a Hero Arts Stars Confetti Die to cut mini stars from the same glitter paper.  I covered the front and two sides of the card with White Glass Bead Glitter Gel and used the gel as an adhesive to attach the mini stars.

To finish the card, I used MS Word to create the Happy 4th of July sentiment, cut it with the star die, trimmed it to fit, and attached it to the inside of the card.

Thanks for stopping by to view my star gate fold card and leaving a comment.
