On The Fly Father’s Day Card

On The Fly Father’s Day Card

Happy Father’s Day to the fathers who make a difference in a child’s life and are supportive, a pillar of strength, and help to ensure an end result of a well-adjusted child.  My special son-in-law is one of those fathers.  He exudes love for his daughter and is a great role model.  His time with his daughter is of utmost importance to him, and he ensures he has time with her on a daily basis.  He does not role cast her; he introduces her to tools, fishing, and other “male” activities.  His daughter is 3 years old, and she LOVES her daddy!  I am very proud to call him my son-in-law (SIL) and I think he is an exemplary and great father.

This is one of the cards I made for him for Father’s Day.  It’s On The Fly Father’s Day Card that features the old Stampin’ Up! On The Fly stamp set.  He is an avid fisherman!  The card is a Step Ladder Center Cut card, and I posted a tutorial on making this style of card in my last post.

Revelations 22:12 & 13

“Behold, I am coming soon!  My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

This photo is of the card closed.  I carried the theme onto the two sides of the card.

I think my part of Florida has beautiful dragonflies, and I look forward to them each year.  Therefore, I included several dragonflies on my card to represent the insects my SIL would see while fishing. He and my daughter live on a lake, and he is always watching out for alligators.  When they show up, he gets after them to move them away from the property line.  I thought he would enjoy seeing alligators on his Father’s Day card.  There are two alligator heads peeking up from the water and one hiding in the grass and cattails.   Because he loves catching fish on his line so he can show my sweet little granddaughter who gets so excited, the fisherman in the image has caught a fish. LOL.

The following photos are close-ups of the dragonflies and one alligator.

Now I must say that the fisherman’s outfit would be quite warm for Florida, but, hey, it is just a stamp and that was the only such stamp I had at the time I made the card!

Happy Father’s Day to those great fathers out there!

Thanks for stopping by and being so kind to leave a comment!

  1. This center-step Father’s Day design is magnificent, Beverly!! I bet it ends up propped up on a side table next to a devoted fisherman for a very, very long time!! Absolute perfect blend of stamping and die cuts!!
