NATIONAL BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR DAY
What a great day it is at Guneaux Designs! I am happy that you decided to stop in to see my National Breast Cancer Survivor Day card!
Why is it a great day? Because I am a breast cancer survivor!! I created this card in response to a “Free 4 All Challenge” on Splitcoaststampers, and the hostess provided a very creative challenge! Her challenge, “National Day of ______?”, is “to pick something to be YOUR “National Day of”, which just says you!” Therefore, my selection is a National Breast Cancer Survivor Day.
My card is a shaker card that features the breast cancer ribbon. I decided to use pink, green, and yellow colors for my card instead of just the typical pink for breast cancer. I added the extra colors to represent not only those on this terrible journal, but also those who are survivors.
On the main panel, I stamped the sentiment from the “Courage” stamp set, “So Glad You Are A Survivor”, several times using VersaMark Ink. I then covered them with white embossing powder and heat set. Then I used the Emboss Resist technique on the panel. The ribbon in the center of the card is outlined with pink and yellow mini flowers.
My card will be sent to my 35-year-old niece who is just finishing breast cancer treatments.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! I will return the favor!!
