PI Make It Monday #333:  Layering Patterns Over Images

Hello and welcome to Guneaux Designs.  Last Monday, Papertrey Ink’s challenge for “Make It Monday #333” involves the technique of layering patterns over stamped images.  This is the card I created and submitted for the challenge.

2 Corinthians 5:9 & 10

“So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.”

I used the Papertrey Ink’s stamp set, Gran’s Garden, to create my card.  This set is a color layering stamp set.  I selected four of the floral stamps to create the floral images on the card.  Each floral stamp has a second image that I stamped over the first image to add additional shading.  Also, each floral stamp has a center dot image that I stamped to add detail to the floral centers.  I use pinks, red, purple, yellow, green, turquoise, and blue inks to stamp the floral images and leaves.

A requirement of the challenge is to create a pattern over the stamped images, thus the title of the challenge, “Layering Patterns Over Images”.  After stamping the floral images on the card front, I used a white gel pen to create a pattern over the stamped images.  After finishing the card front, I cut it out with an MFT die and splattered yellow ink onto it.

Afterward, I added a pink bow to the top-left of the card front, a thick foam sheet to the back, and attached it to the pink card base.  I cut out a sentiment from white cardstock and colored it with colors closely related to the ink used for the flowers and attached it to the card front.

The following two photos are closeups of the flowers.
