United We Flourish Because We Are Better Together
Hi, my friends! I hope you are having a wonderful Monday! This card features the technique of blending alcohol inks and distress oxide inks, which fit the “Perfect Blend” theme of the Dirty Dozen monthly theme for fan club members. My card features the stamps and dies set that Hero Arts made for Ellen Hutson as part of her United We Flourish Campaign. The stamp and die combo is called United We Flourish Because We Are Better Together, and it is an exclusive limited-edition stamp and die set for Ellen’s campaign.
1 John 3:16-20
“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.”
To create this card, I stamped two birds from the United We Flourish Because We Are Better Together stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a piece of Neenah Solar White Cardstock. I used various colors of alcohol ink to color and blend the birds. Considering the sentiments I planned to use, I cut out the image and a black mat with Heart Arts Nesting Hearts Dies. I blended three Copic alcohol inks onto the background of the heart image and added two sentiments, music notes, and hearts.
I die cut a background panel using the ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies and Neenah Solar White cardstock. Then I blended several Hero Arts Oxide Inks onto the piece. Afterward, I laid a Hero Arts stencil over the panel and sprayed water over it. I quickly removed the stencil and let the panel dry. Then I stamped music notes and hearts onto the panel.
I die cut two music notes using the Spellbinders Sing It Loud 1 Dies and added these to the top of the background panel when I assembled the card. Lastly, I added another sentiment that I stamped with VersaMark ink, heat embossed with Copper Embossing Powder, and die cut with a frame die from the Hero Arts MMH March Kit. I attached all of the pieces to a black card base.
Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment! Have a blessed day!
