Penny Black Tulip Bouquet Card

Penny Black Tulip Bouquet Card

Hello!!  Welcome to Guneaux Designs!  My card share today features a new stamp from Penny Black; the Penny Black Tulip Bouquet.  I created the card to submit to today’s color challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com.  The hostess for the color challenge selected the Stampin’ Up! (SU) colors of Tranquil Tide, Sweet Sugarplum, and Rich Razzleberry.  This week’s dessert option is to make a one-layer card.  My card is a one-layer card and I used Copic sketch markers closely related to the color combination to color the Penny Black Tulip Bouquet image on my card.

Psalm 34:11-16

“Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.  Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies.  Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.  The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry; the face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth.”

To create the card, I covered the Penny Black Tulip Bouquet stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped the image onto Neenah Solar Card Stock.  I used the copics to color the image.  After coloring the image, I colored the remainder of the panel to give the card the appearance of a multi-layer card.  I created that by masking the floral image and a portion of the panel and brushed on PTI Sand Dumes ink.  I left the floral mask on and removed the mask that was around the floral image.  Then I laid a PTI stencil over the panel and brushed on pink ink to cover the remaining white space.  I traced the edges of the light tan section with an SU Creamy Caramel marker.  To finish the card, I die cut the panel using an ODBD Pierced Rectangle die, stamped on a sentiment from an ODBD Aloha Stamp Set, and added sequins.

The following two photos provide a closeup of the flowers and sentiment.

Again, thank you for stopping by Guneaux Designs.  I would love it if you left a comment to share your thoughts on the card, and a special thanks for doing so.  Have a wonderful day!
