Penny Black So Loved

Penny Black So Loved

This card is a JOKE!!  😊😊😊 It really is!  As a Dirty Girl (DG) for Splitcoaststampers (SCS), I created the card for a Dirty Dozen Theme challenge to create a project that includes things that start with the letters J, O, K, and E – JOKE!

I thought I had posted the card after my time as an SCS DD, but realized yesterday that I had not.  As I have shared before, I could not post online cards I made while serving as a DG until I finished my term.  That is another reason it was not posted.  Regardless, here it is:

John 16:23-24

Jesus said to the Disciples:  “…I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.  Until now you have not asked for anything in my name.  Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.”

This card is a Joy Fold Card with an Oval, Kitty, and Embroidery Thread; thus a JOKE!  LOL

To create the card, I stamped, colored with copics, and die cut the adorable image of a kitty holding a heart that is from the Penny Black So Loved Stamp Set. To create the light gray oval mat, I traced with a pencil around the outside of the ODBD Stitched Oval Die and fussy cut it.  I used a Paper Piercing Tool to pierce around the outside of the oval, and a Micron Pen for doodling around the mat.

After assembling the card, I used pink and light gray embroidery thread to “weave” a “friendship bracelet” (remember those?) to go around the card to keep it closed. I added a silver bead to the end of the bracelet.  I attached it beneath the hearts on the bottom left of the card, wrapped it around the back to the front of the card, and wrapped the end around the hearts.

The following photo is of the card’s inside.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment!! I love reading them! ❤

  2. How I love the layers on this and I haven’t done layers in ages. That image is adorable and what a great job you did with him. You’ve added SO much detail, like the friendship bracelet that this card is such a delight to see!
