Heartfelt Creations Songs of Spring

Heartfelt Creations Songs of Spring

Are you ready for Spring?  I sure am!  It will be here according to the calendar in about six weeks!  I am trying to move it along by creating a card that relates to April Showers Bring May Flowers!  I am sharing with you today my Heartfelt Creations Songs of Spring card.

2 Timothy 3:1-5

“But mark this:  There will be terrible times in the last days.  People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God – having a form of godliness but denying its power.  Have nothing to do with them.”

Are we living in these days???

I created this card for this weeks Color Challenge on Spliltcoaststampers.com (SCS).  The colors selected are Stampin’ Up! Wild Wisteria, Soft Sky, and Wild Wasabi.  I stamped the beautiful image of the birds and umbrella and the floral images onto white card stock.  I colored them with Copic Sketch Markers closely related to the colors of the SCS Color Challenge.  Afterwards, I die cut the images.

I used the Heartfelt Creations Eyelet Oval Dies to create the oval easel.  I used a piece of 110 lb Neenah Solar Card Stock, folded it in half, and placed the oval die about 1/2″ above the fold line and ran it through my die cutting machine.  Placing the die slightly above the fold line prevents a portion of the fold from cutting.

I folded in half the top portion of the card base, bringing the fold forward.  Using the same die, I cut another oval die from white card stock, and two more from the Heartfelt Creations Singing in the Rain Designer Paper.  I glued the white and one of the designer paper ovals together, and glued them to the half fold of the card base.

Then, I glued the die cuts of the birds and umbrella, foliage, flowers, butterflies, and bow and pearl to the card front.  I attached a sentiment from the Singing in the Rain Designer Paper to the bottom of the card front.

Next I attached to the bottom of the card base the second oval that I cut with the Eyelet Oval Die from the Heartfelt Creations Singing In The Rain Designer Paper.  Then I  covered with VersaMark Ink the “I Love You” sentiment from the Heartfelt Creations Love Sentiments stamp set onto a piece of Wisteria Wonder card stock.  I covered that with white embossing powder and heat set it.

I die cut the sentiment with one die from the Heartfelt Creations Banners of Love Dies.  I attached two rows of double-sided foam tape to the sentiment and attached it to the card.  The sentiment prevents the card from closing when in an open position.  The following photo shows the card closed.

The card is a birthday card for an upcoming birthday of a family member.  I had fun making this card using Heartfelt Creations latest release products.  I hope you enjoy it and will leave a comment about the card.
