Penny Black The Bunch!
Hello, my friends!! Thanks for stopping by. I have not posted many cards this year and I want to explain why. I was asked, and I accepted, to become a member of the Splitcoaststampers (SCS) Dirty Dozen last December. I began my duties as a member in January, which is designing cards for SCS following themes. One of the rules for new members of the Dirty Dozen (DD) is that any card you make for the DD monthly themes cannot be posted anywhere for six months, except on SCS.
To that end, I have been creating cards, and if you are a “club member” of SCS, you can see the cards when they go live, which is on the 15th of each month. If not a club member, you will be able to see them here on my site after the six-month period expires.
Now, on to Penny Black The Bunch! card I created. The Penny Black image on my card is from a stamp set newly released. When I saw the new stamp, I had to have it as I think the image is darling, and it will serve as a great card for my three-year old granddaughter. Don’t you just love the look on her face? She looks so sweet!
1 Thessalonians 5:16
“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
I created this card to respond to two challenges on SCS for this week. One is the color challenge that includes the Stampin’ Up! colors of Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, and Night of Navy. Initially I was not sure about the color combination, but as I started using the colors (or similar colors), I grew to like them.
The second challenge for which I created the card is a SCS sketch challenge. I normally do not respond to the SCS sketch challenges, but I love this sketch that was designed by Diane (DCinkit) of SCS.
One additional thing about the color challenge is the hostess asked to see “bling” on the cards. You can see the bling I added around the front of her head scarf and the puppy’s collar in the following photo. I plan to add a sentiment to the card at an appropriate time.
I hope you enjoyed the card and come back soon!
