Art Impressions Elephant Twist Ties
Most children enjoy going to the zoo to see all the wonderful animals from the wild. When my children were young, they got excited when good weather arrived as they knew a trip to the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. would soon be on the schedule. To that end, I created a zoo animal card using the new Art Impressions Elephant Twist Ties Stamp and Dies set. The little elephants are so cute with their trunks twisted together.
Freedom From Human Regulations Through Life With Christ
Colossians 2:6
“So then just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”
This card is 9-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and a gate-fold card. I stamped the elephant facing left onto the edge of the left panel, and the one facing right onto the edge of the right panel. After stamping, I used the dies that came in the set to cut out a portion of each elephant, which creates a heart when folded.
Then I colored the elephants using Copics markers. (Tip: I find that coloring with Copics onto Neenah Solar White 110 lb paper does not work well. The paper sucks up the ink, the ink bleeds, and it is difficult to blend the colors.)
After coloring the elephants, I traced onto a piece of white cardstock the heart shape that is formed when joining both sides of the card together. I fussy cut the heart, sponged ink onto it for the sky and dirt, stamped images from the Art Impressions WC Tree Set 1 set onto it, and drew a fence. This piece was attached to the inside center of the card. It is to represent what might be typical of a zoo area containing elephants.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! I greatly appreciate the comments.
