Key To My Heart Valentine Box
Welcome back, my friends! I greatly appreciate you stopping by. I have not posted a project since December 24. and I am finding it difficult to create after the holidays. My desire has decreased. Have you experienced this?
To try to get inspired, I am responding to a Color Challenge on Splitcoaststampers today. For the challenge, the hostess selected the Stampin’ Up! colors of Real Red, Powder Pink, and Silver. She also selected “hearts” as “dessert”.
Ephesians 5:1
“ Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”
The lid of the Valentine Box includes a small shaker box. Inside the shaker box, I added a piece of silver foil that I embossed with red embossing powder the sentiment, “Key to my Heart.” I also included three types of sequins, one of which is quite static and clings to the sentiment and acetate and makes the sentiment difficult to see. One day I’ll learn this happens, especially with acetate. On the top of the shaker box are pink crystals and a key.
The remainder of the lid for the candy box features one of my favorite SU DSP, Love Impressions, which includes the three colors of the color combination and hearts. I used Hero Arts dies and red glimmer paper to create the die cuts on the top of the lid. I used another die and silver foil to create the dies cuts on the sides of the lid. Before adding the silver die cuts, I attached around the center of the sides of the lid a pink ribbon.
The box bottom is made from red cardstock and includes dividers for placement of candy. Both the lid and bottom of the box were made with several folds to prevent adding adhesive, except for one small piece at the inside center of both.

WOW, BEV! YOU’RE FAST at commenting! LOL I wanted to comment on this project too! I saved it for your blog! 😉 This is SO PRETTY! I LOVE ALL of the hearts! & that you EVEN divided up the inside of this little box! There’s SO MUCH DETAIL to this little box! Which makes it LOVELY!!!! 😉 A PERFECT GIFT for someone SPECIAL!!! I DO go through some times of not having the get up & go for crafting…. Lately, I’ve been SO BUSY with things…. Our son is having some trouble with his leg—swollen & bruised. The doctor can’t figure out WHAT is wrong after several tests! It makes it hard to sit down & craft! (PLEASE remember him in your prayers? Thanks Bev!) INKY HUGS DEAR FRIEND!!! 😉
Bev, this is absolutely gorgeous. Haven’t even thought of Valentines yet, and it will be here before we know it. Lovely papers, awesome design and sweet contents!
I think you found your mojo when you made this beautiful gift box.

wow… this is beautiful. What a treasure in the box alone (who doesn’t like chocolate) but this is awesome. Very creative and wonderful work.
Wow Bev, I think this is such a wonderful treat box that is beautifully decorated along with also being a shaker!! Such a clever and gorgeous design!! Really love the additional sparkle with the glitter paper, rhinestones and shimmery ribbon!! Everything is stunning and I wouldn’t have thought you lost any MOJO with this!! 🙂 Yes, I sometimes find that when I take a break, it’s hard to get motivated again, but keep trying friend! Your projects are always great!! HUGS
Aren’t you just ever so clever and creative this box is just too neat, every little detail is just wonderful, I so love the die cuts you used, so dainty and pretty. For not being in the mood to create you achieved a master piece with this one. I do have times when I don’t feel creative and hard for me to get motivated but I have a very large family and making sure each of them gets at least a birthday card keeps me going 🙂 Happy New year!
Wow Beverly, what a fabulous box. Who wouldn’t be delighted to get chocolates in such a wonderful box design.
Hugs Diane
My gosh, Bev. If this is your idea of not being creative I need you to send some of that here. I can’t believe the work involved in this project! You undertake things I would never even dare to try. This is outstanding! And yes, every time I put crafting down for a while it does get harder to get back into it.
