Beach Scene

Today on Splitcoaststampers is a Color Challenge featuring Stampin’ Up! Colors of Soft Sky, Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi, and Crumb Cake.   I created a beach scene card for the challenge.  The scene features several dies from Impression Obsession, Marianne Design, Frantic Stamper Inc., Cottage Cutz, and Spellbinders.

If you want to play along with the Challenge, you can do so HERE!

7-10-16 UPDATE:  This card was included in the Splitcoaststampers Favorites of the Week ending 7-10-16!

7-12-16 UPDATE:  This card was selected as Splitcoaststampers FAVORITE for last week’s Color Challenge, CC590!!

To create the card, I used a 4-1/2″ square piece of Neenah Solar White Card Stock and sponged on the Crumb Cake sand, Marina Mist ocean, and Soft Sky sky.  Because I wanted to use a surfer, I wanted to make the ocean seem a little rough; therefore, I used Liquid Applique and spread it along the shore and into the water.

After cutting out all of the die cuts that I wanted to include on the card from the solar white paper (see list of supplies for the names of the dies), I used Copic Sketch Markers to color each one, and strategically place each cutout onto the scene.  After finishing that, I cut two Spellbinders Nestabilities Fairmont Labels dies, adhered them together with foam tape, and attached them around the scene.  I then added the flipflops and shells around the labels.  The scene was attached to a Wild Wasabi card base.

I really like how the card turned out!  I hope you enjoyed it, and will take time to provide me feedback!

“In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.”  Ephesians 3:12

SU Mouthwatering

Happy Monday, my friends!  I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!!  My card share today is one I created for a Clean and Simple Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  I used the Stampin’ Up! (SU) Mouthwatering Stamp Set to create a card in response to the challenge.  The challenge was to create a card with “cool and sweet treats”, which is quite appropriate for yesterday.

SU Mouthwatering

To create the card, I stamped the watermelon from the SU Mouthwatering Stamp Set in a light color so I could then color it with red and green Copic Sketch Markers.  I fussy cut the image and covered it with VersaMark and Clear Embossing Powder, heating it with a heating tool.

Then I scored a piece of SU Basic Black Card Stock and added a white dot on each intersection with my white gel pen.  I found a piece of SU White Ribbon that I had previously dyed with a SU Real Red Reinker.  I added this piece and a piece of green ribbon around the black card stock and a piece of SU Wild Wasabi Card Stock that I adhered the black card stock to.

That was adhered to my card base that is White Linen Card Stock by Essentials by Ellen.   Foam tape was added to the watermelon cutout and attached to the card.  The card was an easy one to make.

SU Mouthwatering

The sentiment, You’re So Sweet, at the bottom of the card is from the SU Sweet Cake stamp set.  Enjoy and have a wonderful day.  Leave a comment – I enjoy reading them!SU Fifth Avenue Floral

My prayer is not for them alone.  I pray also for those who will believe in me {Jesus} through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.  (Jesus is praying for all believers.)  John 17:20-21

Happy 4th of July – Courage

Happy July 4th, my stamping and crafting friends!!!  Today for the “Technique Lovers Challenge” on the Splitcoaststampers website is a featured “Everything Old Is New Again” technique called Reverse Masking!  Here is a tutorial for the technique.  My Happy 4th of July – Courage card is submitted for the challenge.

SU Courage Stamp Set

Using the Stampin’ Up! (SU) Stars Dies, I cut a mask of the largest star.  I laid the mask over my white card base and sponged SU Real Red Ink in the form of the mask; a star. Loving the old SU Classic Ink, Brilliant Blue, I decided to cover the image from the SU Courage Stamp Set (retired) and stamped it over the sponged red star.  I then covered the sentiment with the same ink and stamped it below the image.

To give the appearance of fireworks, I sprinkled red and blue brushos around the card and then spritzed with water.  This is a clean and simple card to make, and I hope you enjoy it.

Have a wonderful, fun, and safe 4th of July as we celebrate Independence Day!  God bless the USA.

CottageCutz Pelican on Siesta Key Beach

CottageCutz Pelican on Siesta Key Beach

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by to see my CottageCutz Pelican on Siesta Key Beach card.  I love CottageCutz beach-related dies.  This card features one such die, the CottageCutz Pelican Die.  I made this card in response to yesterday’s Free For All, F4A332, Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  The hostess of the challenge asked for beach-theme cards.   Her “dessert” (extra points) was to include red, white, and blue colors on cards.

Living in the west central part of Florida, I get to enjoy the beautiful white sand and turquoise water of the Siesta Key Beach. The beach is gorgeous, and my card is a reflection of it.

These photos are closeups of the card:

The wonderful comments made about this card can be seen HERE on Splitcoaststampers.

Firm Reliance on Divine Providence!

Matthew 22:37-39

(The Greatest Commandment)  “Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it:  Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

July 4th God Bless America

Today’s Splitcoaststampers Clean and Simple Challenge, CAS383, “Good Ole Red, White & Blue” is to create a card with any theme, technique, and/or any embellishment, but to use only Red, White and Blue colors!   Red, white, and blue means one thing to me – July 4th and God’s blessings upon America.  Therefore, I created this card, July 4th God Bless America.  I tried to keep this card as simple as I could, which is difficult for me.

July 4th God Bless American

I used the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) God Bless America flag stamp covered with black ink to stamp a flag image onto white paper. I colored it with copics and cut out the star with ODBD Star Dies. Hopefully you can see the star embossing on the white card base that I created with a Stampin’ Up! Stars embossing folder.

ODBD My Soul Thirsts Stamp Set

ODBD My Soul Thirsts Stamp Set

Early this week, I prepared a card in response to a Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge. Peggy (pegmac71), the challenge host, brought to us beautiful colors for the Color Challenge, CC588 – A Perfect Smoky Pirouette. The colors she selected are SU Pink Pirouette, Perfect Plum, and Smoky Slate. These are beautiful colors together.

I used two stamp sets on the card:  ODBD My Soul Thirsts Stamp Set, and Stampin’ Up! Birthday Blooms Stamp Set.  I love the Psalm 42:2 verse included on the card, which is from the ODBD My Soul Thirsts Stamp Set.

ODBD My Soul Thirsts Stamp Set

For my card, I used several copic sketch markers that are close to the selected colors to color the floral image on the card, which is from the Stampin’ Up! Birthday Blooms Stamp Set. I blended both the pink and plum copic colors on the flowers’ petals and a gray on the leaves. I had not blended the pink and plum copic colors before, and I must say I like the outcome.  This photo provides a closeup of the image.

JUNE 26, 2016 UPDATE:  Card was included in Splitcoaststampers Favorites of the Week.

ODBD My Soul Thirsts Stamp Set

I must say that I’m enjoying more and more the use of the copic sketch markers.  Learning to create shading and blending takes some time, but it’s worth it.

At the top left of the card (see above photo), I modified a Spellbinders Die to create a corner piece.  I felt the card needed that additional touch.

Enjoy the card and thanks for your comments!
