Wildflower Gate Happy Birthday Card

Hello, friends!  Today I have a card share that I call, Wildflower Gate Happy Birthday Card.  The name comes from the embossing folder I used to create the card.  That is the Anna Griffin Wildflower Gate Embossing Folder.

I submitted my card for a Splitcoaststampers Clean and Simple Challenge for today that asks participants to “Think Spring”.  What comes to your mind when you think of spring?  I think of flowers, especially daffodils and tulips.  However, my card does not feature daffodils and tulips, it features a variety of flowers.

To create the card, I used the Wildflower Gate Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Neenah White Card Stock.  Then I used sponge daubers to apply ink onto the raised portions of the panel.  I used five of Catherine Pooler’s new inks:  Party Dress (pink), Flirty Fuchsia (purple), Something Borrowed (blue), Tiki Torch (orange), and Lime Rickey (lime).

After applying ink onto the floral images, I used the same embossing folder to carefully emboss a piece of vellum.  I aligned the two embossed pieces and attached them together.  I added rhinestones to some of the flowers and then used a corner punch for the four corners.  I then threaded a lime green ribbon around the card, adding a bow.  I finished by adding a “Happy Birthday” sentiment.  Now how clean and simple is that?

The Anna Griffin Wildflower Gate embossing folder is an old folder, and I cannot find a link online for you!

I hope you are inspired to use vellum in this manner, and you have enjoyed my Wildflower Gate Happy Birthday Card.

LUKE 24:45-49

After Jesus was raised from the dead, he appeared before the Disciples and they were startled.  “Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.  He told them, ‘This is what is written:  The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.  You are witnesses of these things.  I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

Altenew Peony Bouquet Birthday Card

Happy Monday!  Did you have a nice weekend?  The weather was wonderful where I live in Florida!  During the weekend I made this gorgeous Altenew Peony Bouquet Birthday Card.  I love the Altenew Peony Bouquet Stamp Set!

Altenew Peony Bouquet Birthday Card

The Altenew Peony Bouquet Stamp Set is a multi-layering group of stamps.  They create a beautiful peony.  To create the three peonies on this beautiful card, I used three different pink inks for the five stamps that create a peony.  I did not like the way the ink appeared on the bottom center peony, so I stamped it again on separate card stock and fussy cut it out.  I have a matching die set for the peonies; however I did not what the white edges that a die cut typically leaves.  I used double-sided foam tape to pop up the flower.

The frame that the images are on was cut out using the Spellbinders Enchanted Labels.  I think it is a beautiful frame.  I used the Hero Arts Birthday Celebration Stamp Set for the Happy Birthday sentiment.

I hope I have inspired you with the beautiful card!  Have a wonderful day, and if you have feedback, I would love to hear it.  Leave a message in the comment section.

MATTHEW 6:22-24

Jesus said:  “The eye is the lamp of the body.  If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light.  But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness.  If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!”

Guneaux Designs Fairy Greeting Card

Welcome!  I hope you had a wonderful week of Christmas!  My week was exhausting, and I am glad it is behind me!!  I have a cute card share for you, Guneaux Designs Fairy Greeting Card.  It’s a Happy Birthday greeting card, and the fairy image is a digital one!

This card was made for a card drive for the Bright Star Center in Florida that provides grief counseling for young children.  The Bright Star Center assists children ages 3-18 through the grieving process.  Because children grieve differently than adults, at Bright Star they are encouraged to express grief both verbally and through positive play.  Art, children’s yoga, grief groups, and a one-day camp are just a few activities offered. Because of the Center’s name, the request was to create birthday cards that include stars.  The cards requested were for children from 2 years of age to young adults. This card drive was such a worthy cause, and I enjoyed creating the card.

Bubbles Girl – Mo’s Digital Pencil

Hello, my crafting friends!  This evening I have a card share that features a digital stamp, the Bubbles Girl – Mo’s Digital Pencil.  My soon-to-be two-year granddaughter loves blowing bubbles, so I decided this image will be perfect for her birthday card.  She loves pink and yellow, thus I used the two colors when creating the card.

After coloring the image with various Copic Markers on a piece of white card stock, I cut it out using a Spellbinders oval die.  With the remaining card stock, I centered a rectangle die over the negative oval piece and cut out a rectangle with a CottageCutz Double-Stitched Rectangle Die.  Using an Our Daily Bread Designs Pierced Rectangles Die, I cut out a second piece of white card stock.

I adhered the first rectangle to the second, placing the image cut out within the first rectangle.  Using a strong adhesive, I attached these panels to a Pixie Pink card base.

Lastly, I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment on two corners, added sequins to the other two corners, and embellished the bubbles with Glossy Accents.happy-birthday-bubbles3_1

I submitted this card for today’s Clean and Simple Challenge on Splitcoaststampers. This challenge is to make a birthday card for someone whose birthday is in the winter time.  My granddaughter’s birthday is in December.

Enjoy and thanks for leaving comments!

Jesus said to his disciples:

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.  If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own.  As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.  That is why the world hates you.  Remember these words, ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ “

Happy Birthday – Falliday Fest

Thanks for stopping by, my friends!  My card share today is a Happy Birthday card that I made for the Splitcoaststampers Falliday Fest.  Dr Sonja’s (Sonja Van Laar) Falliday Fest Challenge (FF16DrSonja) is related to a card drive for Hospice of St. Francis in Melbourne, FL.  She asked for birthday cards with wrinkles.  The technique she recommended to get wrinkles is the Faux Silk Technique (tutorial).

happy-birthday-card_1

This Happy Birthday card is a gate-fold card that I created using the Spellbinders Die mentioned below.  I cut the gate fold from Tempting Turquoise Card Stock and adhered to it a panel made with the same Spellbinders die using SU Flock Together DSP.

To get wrinkles on the card, I followed the Faux Silk Technique.  Once the tissue was dry, I wrinkled it and adhered it to the center piece of the card.  I stamped the SU Happy Birthday Greetings stamp in Tempting Turquoise ink and onto the tissue paper.

Jesus said to his disciples, “No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.  Each tree is recognized by its own fruit.  People do not pick figs from thorn-bushes, or grapes from briers.  The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things our of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.”  Luke 6:43-45

Color Blocking Happy Birthday

My friends, today is Saturday and that means it is time for an Inspiration Challenge!  That is, an Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  Audrie (girlgeek101) provided a great Pinterest board to be inspired by, which is a color blocking board. Audrie always picks great sites for inspiration. This is the card I created for the color blocking inspiration challenge, and it is a Happy Birthday card.

Color Blocking Happy Birthday

My card is made from card stock, ribbon, dies and a metal buckle…no ink or stamps. I designed it around my two inspiration pieces: 1) this shoe image, and 2)  this color-blocked dress

Of all the images on the board, the shoe and dress caught my eye because of the colors and shapes. The shoe’s colors, heel and buckle inspired the left side of my card (i.e. turquoise and pink blocks and a large buckle). The dress inspired the shape and color of all the blocks on the card. I threaded a black ribbon through the buckle to resemble the strip of black fabric running at an angle near the mid-section of the dress. To finish the card, I added the happy birthday sentiment and a silhouette of poppies.
