Secret Garden Stamp Set Stampin’ Up!

SECRET GARDEN STAMP SET – STAMPIN’ UP!

Secret Garden Stamp Set and Watercoloring

I certainly hope that Stampin’ Up!’s Secret Garden Stamp Set is carried over in the upcoming 2013-2014 Annual Catalog.  I have found myself gravitating to this stamp set quite often when making cards.

Today’s card features two stamp images from the Secret Garden Stamp Set.  I stamped the floral and leaves images from the stamp set onto a piece of Stampin’ Up!’s Watercolor Paper.

Secret Garden Stamp SetI stamped on Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry Card Stock and cut out the three butterflies on the card front.  The butterflies are from the Kindness Matters Stamp Set.

The beautiful flower that is featured on the card front was stamped on the watercolor paper using Jet Black StazOn Ink.  I then water colored it with the Stampin’ Up! Rich Razzelberry Classic Ink.  After water coloring the flower, I masked it and stamped the stem and leaves from the Secret Garden Stamp Set. Secret Garden Stamp Set - Water ColoringThe sentiment, Happy Birthday (from the Apothecary Stamp Set), was stamped onto the watercolor paper with VersaMark Ink and then embossed with Gumball Green Embossing Powder.  I hope you enjoy it.

Secret Garden Stamp Set Stampin' Up!

SECRET GARDEN STAMP SET STAMPIN’ UP!

Stampin Up Secret Garden Stamp Set

I am so ready for Spring, and the Stampin Up Secret Garden Stamp Set is perfect for making a Spring-related card.  The more I use the Stampin Up Secret Garden Stamp Set, the more I like it.  I think that the card I have for you today is beautiful, if I have to say so myself.  It features the Secret Garden Stamp Set.

I created a matching envelope for the card using the same stamp set.  It is seen better in following picture.

Creating this card took some time for me as it involves using Stampin’ Up!’s White Craft Ink as the initial layer of ink for the flowers.  This card is the first one I’ve made using this technique, of which I don’t know the name.

This technique is so beautiful on Stampin’ Up!’s Crumb Cake Card Stock.  I think I will try it on a dark card stock to see if it is as beautiful.

As you can see in this  picture, I used the Masking Technique to stamp the stem and leaves stamp image from the Stampin Up Secret Garden Stamp Set.  I used Gumball Green Classic Ink to stamp the image.

The first step when using the White Craft Ink technique is to cover your stamp(s) with VersaMark Ink.  Stamp the image(s) onto the card stock and cover with Stampin’ Up!’s White Embossing Powder.  Heat set the image and begain covering the image(s) using an Aqua Painter and the White Craft Ink.  After the White Craft Ink dries, begin to apply ink colors of your choice onto the image(s).  Begin with lighter colors and move to darker colors.  After applying the White Craft Ink, I used alcohol markers to color layers of ink onto the flowers.

SUPPLIES USED FOR THIS STAMPIN UP SECRET GARDEN STAMP SET CARD:

Accessories: Bitty Banners Framelits (129267),  Whisper White 5/8″ Organza Ribbon (114319), White Embossing Powder (109132), and Aqua Painter (103954)

Stampin Up All Dressed Up Bundle – Stamping With Guneaux Designs

Boy, am I having fun with the Stampin Up All Dressed Up Bundle!  I am so enjoying playing with paper dolls ….LOL….like I did as a child.  Seriously, I really enjoyed created my Stampin Up All Dressed Up card.

Let me first welcome you to the Guneaux Designs Boutique!  In my store front window are a grouping of “mix and match” outfits.  Come inside the Boutique and let me share with you information about the designs.  Or if you like, you can just window shop.  If you window shop, please don’t touch the window as you will leave fingerprints.  (Don’t you shake your head! lol.  I’m just having fun!)

I have for you several photos of the various elements of this card made with the Stampin Up All Dressed Up Framelits.  To that end, the following three pictures reflect the first mannequin’s outfit.

The outfit is made with a beautiful design from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack.  The designer of the outfit used one of the Stampin Up Dress Up Framelits to cut out the material. The blouse sports a beautiful floral broach.  Around the mannequin’s neck is a gorgeous green diamond necklace made with Stampin Up Basic Rhinestones and a permanent green marker, a state-of-the-art designer tool.  The belt that wraps around the blouse is made from Lucky Limeade Card Stock.  The skirt is made from another beautiful design of the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack.

The outfit on the mannequin in the center of the Guneaux Designs Boutique window features a beautiful cardigan (photo to the left). The cardigan is wrapped around a gorgeous dress that was made with Lucky Limeade Card Stock and the same framelit used for the first outfit.  The cardigan has beautiful pearl buttons that match the pearl necklace on the mannequin.  The pearls were made with Stampin Up Basic Pearls that were colored with the state-of-the-art permanent marker.  Don’t they just made this outfit?

The picture below shows the complete outfit.  The dress was made with another Stampin Up Dressed Up Framelit and the above-mentioned Designer Series Paper.  It is enhanced with an added Lucky Limeade ruffle at the bottom made with the same Stampin Up Dressed Up Framelit.

The third mannequin in the window is wearing a more casual outfit.  It is a two-piece outfit of a blouse and skirt as is the first outfit.

The blouse includes ruffles made from the same material as the skirt, the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack.  The designer used a tool to create the ruffles – the Stampin Up Scalloped Edge Border Punch.

The scallops were folded one on top of another to create the ruffles.  Aren’t they very fashionable?  The neck supports a pearl necklace made with Stampin Up Basic Pearls, which are also included on the Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon belt shown in both photos.

Let’s move on to the store front window itself.  In the following photo, you can see that the light from the sun is creating a reflection on the window.  It also shows a reflection of the Guneaux Designs Boutique lettering onto the wall behind the glass.  The glass window was made with a Stampin Up Window Sheet.

Notice the wood shingles around the window.  Aren’t they cool?  They were made with the Stampin Up Natural Composition Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Let’s give a hand to the designer of these beautiful pieces, Guneaux Designs!!!

I hope you enjoy your Stampin Up All Dressed Up Bundle as much as I do!

Stampin Up Best of Flowers Stamp Set – Best of 25 Years

What a great set the Stampin Up Best of Flowers Stamp Set is!  As shared in my last post, this stamp set is the March release for the Stampin’ Up! Best of 25 Years Anniversary celebration.   Stampin Up Best of Flowers Stamp Set

(Click on the above picture to see better the PDF.)

Stampin Up Best of Flowers Stamp Set

For my project today, I used a similar  Hydrangea  flower stamp from Stampin’ Up! to create this Happy Birthday card for my youngest daughter who loves pink.

Look at this Hydrangea stamped image and tell me what the differences are between this image and the Hydrangea stamp in the Stampin Up Best of Flowers Stamp Set.

Notice the diagonal score lines on the card front.  I created them to appear as sun rays shinning onto the Hydrangea.  I used the Stampin’ Up! Simply Scored Scoring Tool to create the rays.

Stampin Up Best of Flowers Stamp Set

I used the Pretty in Pink Stampin Write’ Marker to color the floral part of the stamp, and the Lucky Limeade Stampin’ Write Marker to color the stem and leaves.  I stamped the image onto Whisper White Card Stock.

After stamping the image, I again covered the floral portion of it, but this time with the Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker.  Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig, I positioned the stamp over the first stamped image and re-stamped it.  I like the way it turned out.  You can see the results better in the following picture.

I had to share this picture with you.  I took it while looking down at the card, which was standing up.  Therefore, it is rather distorted.  It looks like I am holding the top right corner of the card and am stretching it (LOL).  Well, it does give you a good view of the diagonal lines {laughing}!

Stampin Up Zentangle – Happy Birthday

It has been close to a year since I created a Stampin Up Zentangle card.  I decided it was time to create one, so I did for my sister’s birthday.  I used a few Stampin Up products for the Zentangle.  If you’ve never tried to the art of Zentangle, here’s a website chocked full of tangle patterns that are fairly easy to learn.  I hope you try them.

Stampin Up Zentangle

The following provides a closeup of the ice cream cone in the center of the card along with the Happy Birthday sentiment.

 Stampin Up Zentangle

Tangling is a wonderful and relaxing form of art.  It can be time consuming; it just depends on the size of your creation and the patterns used.  When  I tangle, I am certainly in a “Zen” state of mind!

SUPPLIES USED FOR THE STAMPIN UP ZENTANGLE HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARD:

Stamps:  Stampin Up You Rule Stamp Set (129264) and the retired Stampin Up Clearly For You Stamp Set (I used the crown from this set)

you-rule_1

Paper:  Stampin Up Whisper White Card Stock and Elegant Eggplant Card Stock

Ink: Stampin Up Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink and non-Stampin Up Markers

Just in case you decide to replicate the Stampin Up Zentangle card, I tried to keep track of the tangle patterns that I used.  I may have left one out, but you can find them on the above website.  I made slight changes to some of the patterns, and my hands aren’t steady, so some of the patterns are not perfect.

The tangle patterns I used are:

  • Betweed
  • Zenplosion Folds
  • Mooka
  • Pokeroot
  • Poke Leaves
  • Hollibaugh
  • Jeewels

STAMPIN UP ZENTANGLE HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARD

Happy Birthday Cards – Stampin’ Up!

For me, the month of February requires several Happy Birthday Cards  as several relatives’ birthdays are during this month.  Happy Birthday Cards are greeting cards that you cannot have enough of.  Today’s share is a Happy Birthday Card for my daughter who turns 41.  (Gee, I’m really feeling old!)

Happy Birthday Cards

I thought that some rosettes would look good with this design of Stampin’ Up!’s Floral District Designer Series Paper.  The following picture is a closeup of the rosettes.

Happy Birthday Cards

Did you notice the thread in each button that is on top of the rosettes?  The thread is from three different colors of Stampin’ Up! Ribbon that I unraveled and inserted into the buttons.   This is a good substitute for Baker’s Twine if you do not have any.
