Water Colored Mondo Sakura

Water Colored Mondo Sakura

Hello, and welcome to Guneaux Designs.  Thank you for stopping by.  Today’s card share features the Essentials by Ellen Mondo Sakura stamp set.  The card contains a water colored Mondo Sakura image.  I do not know the name for the technique I used on the card; however, I’ll explain how I created it.  If you know the name of the technique, please share it with me in the comments section.  Thanks!

John 17:1-5 (Jesus Prays for Himself)

“After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: “Father, the time has come.  Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.  For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him.  Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.  I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.  And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.”

Heated Pearls Technique Using Pearl Ex Pigments

Heated Pearls Technique Using Pearl Ex Pigments

Remember when the Heated Pearls Technique Using Pearl Ex Pigments was the trend?  I remember the first time I used the technique.  I was temporarily living in the Washington, D.C. area working on a contract for the Federal Government.  I was thinking about becoming a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and was experimenting with techniques.  A demonstrator asked me to help her prepare cards that showcased various techniques for a card swap she was hosting.  I agreed to help and was asked to use the Heated Pearls Technique.  I enjoyed the technique but it can be messy; therefore, I rarely used it.

However, an opportunity to use the technique presented itself when I was serving as a “Dirty Girl” on Splitcoaststampers.  The “Dirty Dozen” theme for the month of April was titled “Perfect Blend”.  When the challenge was posted, I immediately thought of the  Heated Pearls Technique using Pearl Ex Pigments.  Therefore, I used the technique in response to the “Perfect Blend” challenge.  This is the card I submitted but could not post it until now.

1 John 3:21-24

“Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.  And this is his command:  to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.  Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them.  And this is how we know that he lives in us:  We know it by the Spirit he gave us.”

Blended Glass Bead Gel and Ink

Blended Glass Bead Gel and Ink

Hello and thanks for stopping by Guneaux Designs.  Today, I have a card for you that features stenciling, blending glass bead gel and ink, and sponging. The glass bead gel gives a raised effect on the card with tiny glass beads that sparkle.  Hopefully, you can see the sparkle.

John 20:27-29 (Jesus Appears to Thomas After His Resurrection)

“Then he said to Thomas, ‘Put your finger here; see my hands.  Reach out your hand and put it into my side.  Stop doubting and believe.’  Thomas said to him, ‘My Lord and my God!’  Then Jesus told him, ‘Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’

United We Flourish Because We Are Better Together

United We Flourish Because We Are Better Together

Hi, my friends!  I hope you are having a wonderful Monday!   This card features the technique of blending alcohol inks and distress oxide inks, which fit the “Perfect Blend” theme of the Dirty Dozen monthly theme for fan club members.  My card features the stamps and dies set that Hero Arts made for Ellen Hutson as part of her United We Flourish Campaign. The stamp and die combo is called United We Flourish Because We Are Better Together, and it is an exclusive limited-edition stamp and die set for Ellen’s campaign.

1 John 3:16-20

“This is how we know what love is:  Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.  And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.  If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?  Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.  This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence whenever our hearts condemn us.  For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.”

Penny Black Crimson Blush Rose

Penny Black Crimson Blush Rose

Welcome to Guneaux Designs!  I love the Penny Black Crimson Blush Rose stamp, and I am featuring it on my card today.  I stamped the rose image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock.  Using Copic Sketch Markers, I blended shades of light to dark pink alcohol ink onto the roses, and shades of green onto the leaves.  Afterward, I used a dark pink Prismacolor pencil to add more color to enhance the image.  Then I blended the pencil coloring with Gamsol.

1 John 3:11-15

“This is the message you heard from the beginning:  We should love one another.  Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother.  And why did he murder him?  Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous.  Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you.  We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers.  Anyone who does not love remains in death.  Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.”

AI WC Dogs Set

AI WC Dogs Set

Did you have a good weekend?  I hope so.  Have you seen the new 2018 release from Art Impressions?  Art Impressions (AI) released multiple watercolor sets like the AI WC Dogs Set.  The little doggies are so cute.  I used the set along with some AI floral and bench sets to stamp and watercolor the image on this card.

Titus 2:11-14

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.  It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age while we wait for the blessed hope — the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.”
